Cheering for the genuine protector of children, yaaahoooo!

“In the future, I hope to see a nation where every LGU is not only an implementer of laws, but a true guardian of children.” - Ms. Ayala Devine Butlig, SFI Peer Educator

This vision from the children themselves set the tone for a significant milestone on April 27, 2026, when the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), DILG Philippines Department of the Interior and Local Government, and Stairway Foundation, Inc., launched the first Local Child Safeguarding and Protection Policy (LCSPP) Document Guide and e-Learning Course.

This important initiative will provide Local Government Units (LGUs) across the Philippines with a comprehensive guide to help them protect and care for every Filipino child. Alongside this, the LCSPP e-Learning Course aims to help LGUs better understand and apply child safeguarding principles by offering clear ideas and practical steps for creating safe, responsible communities for children.

When national government agencies, local government units, civil society, communities, and children work together, we get closer to a future where every child is safe, respected, and empowered. Protecting children is not just our duty; it shows who we are as a nation.

They found a safe and welcoming haven for the heartfelt turnover of donations to support our learner-athletes with special needs.

This stands as a shining testament that our LRP Desk is truly a place of safety, care, and unity for everyone.

A single piece of tissue becomes soaked with tears from a heart longing for comfort from someone trusted.....

From the perspective of an LRP Focal, such moment underscores the importance of fostering a safe and nurturing environment where children can enjoy their right to basic education in schools. The work can be draining, especially when people choose not to embrace the program, viewing it instead as an added burden.

Yet, there is deep gratitude in being able to mirror God’s kindness by extending compassion to those in need.

At times, acts of service become pivotal lessons—moments that people interpret differently based on their values and perspectives, often pressing you to conform to their mold.

Above all, God’s sovereignty prevails, transforming each lesson into an opportunity to glorify Him alone. Every experience carries His divine purpose--shaping individuals into ChristLife!

To support learner-contestants from SDO Siargao participating in the 2026 Regional Academic Skills Development, Regional Festival of Talents, and Regional Schools Press Conference, the Division LRP Office set up the LRP Desk and Wellness Hub at Punta Elementary School in Nasipit, ADN. Preparations began with virtual planning sessions and continued through the installation of tarpaulins, the display of IEC materials and setting of boardgames ensuring LRPO services were effectively delivered—with the assistance of few learner-contestants and even a police officer lending a hand.
