The Mabini Colleges Libraries and College of Liberal Arts are thrilled to announce the call for entries for the 2024 National Book Week Library VLOG contest and Piliin Magbasa, Piliin ang Pilipinas Advocacy VLOG!

1st Prize - 1500
2nd Prize - 1000
3rd Prize - 800

CONTEST MECHANICS:

A. LIBRARY VLOG

1. The contest is open to all students of Mabini Colleges Inc.

2. Each participant should submit ONE (1) ENTRY ONLY.

3. All submitted entries must be original work and between 3-5 minutes in length.

4. Content must be appropriate for all ages. Participants may use English, Filipino, Taglish, or mixture of dialects and languages in their video.

5. Submitted videos must focus on any of the following:
A. Promotion of the MC Libraries' resources, services, and facilities.
B. Library experiences/personal stories
C. Importance of library and reading in today's world.

6. All entries must be submitted to [email protected] using the participant's institutional email.

7. Deadline for submissions is on November 16, 2024.

8. File name should be in this format:
Last name_First name_Department_Title of the VLOG

9. Email should include:
Subject: Library VLOG Contest
Body: Student Number, Full name, Course, and Department.

B. PILIIN MAGBASA, PILIIN ANG PILIPINAS ADVOCACY VLOG

Theme and Purpose - The theme of the contest is "Piliing Magbasa, Piliin ang Pilipinas", which encourages participants to create advocacy videos that promote the love of reading and the appreciation of Filipino culture, history, and identity.

Videos should inspire viewers to choose reading as a tool for personal growth, community development, and national pride.

Mechanics

1. Duration - Maximum of 3 minutes long

2. Language - Videos can be in any Filipino language or dialect, but non Filipino languages should have Filipino subtitles.

3. Content - The video must not contain inappropriate content, including but not limited to explicit language, violent or graphic images, or offensive music. All content must be appropriate for a general audience.

4. Music Asset - strictly any open-source music (under creative commons licenses) appropriate to the theme; proper attribution must be included in the submitted video/caption.

5. All entries must be submitted to [email protected] using participant's institutional email.

6. Deadline for submission of entries is on November 16, 2024.
