04. 26. 2026 || The PSU-PCAT NSTP Civic Welfare Training Service engaged students from Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Tourism Management, Political Science, Industrial Technology and Hotel and Restaurant Management in sustainability-driven projects promoting a clean and green campus environment.

The Clean and Green Gulayan Project is a part of the PSU-PCAT National Service Training Program (NSTP) initiatives aimed at fostering environmental responsibility and sustainable practices among students. It focused on creating a cleaner, greener campus through waste management, material recovery, fruit-bearing tree planting, and the cultivation of a gulayan (vegetable garden) for sustainable food production.

In photos are the CWTS activities promoting the following:

Environmental Sustainability: Students applied the principles of "Clean and Green" to maintain a healthy campus environment. This included proper segregation of biodegradable waste, and adherence to the 3R’s: reduce, re-use, and recycle.

Gulayan Cultivation: Establishing a vegetable garden to support sustainable food practices, involving students in planting, nurturing, and harvesting of produced vegetables.

Community Engagement: Encouraged collaboration among students, faculty, and local stakeholders to support environmental initiatives and raise awareness about sustainability.

Workshops and Training: Activities included waste management workshops, material recovery practices, and ecological awareness to strengthen participants’ understanding of sustainability and civic responsibility as it is a respond to the call of United Nations' SDG campaign.

Implementers and Students from the following programs actively participated in the project:

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Management
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
Bachelor of Industrial Technology

NSTP CWTS students contributed through hands-on planting, organizing cleanup drives, and participating in educational activities that enhanced both personal and communal environmental accountability. The project was part of broader sustainability initiatives at PSU-PCAT, contributing to the university’s emphasis on collaborative efforts for environmental stewardship and aligning with sustainable development goals. It also reinforces the role of NSTP in building civic awareness, community participation, and responsible citizenship.
