Matthew 9:9-13 narrates the calling of Matthew and Jesusโ€™ defense of associating with sinners. After Jesus calls Matthew from his tax booth to follow Him, Matthew hosts a dinner for many tax collectors and "sinners," prompting criticism from the Pharisees. Jesus responds with the analogy that the sick need a doctor, not the healthy, and quotes Hosea to declare: โ€œI desire mercy, and not sacrifice.โ€ He concludes by stating His mission is to call sinners to repentance, not those who consider themselves righteous.

Matthew 28:16-20, known as The Great Commission, records Jesusโ€™ final instructions to the eleven disciples after his resurrection. The passage begins with the disciples traveling to a designated mountain in Galilee, where they saw him, worshiped him, but some doubted.

Jesus asserts that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him, providing the basis for his command to make disciples of all nations. This mission involves baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded. The passage concludes with the promise that Jesus will be with his followers always, to the end of the age.

John 17:1-11 records a pivotal moment in the Gospel of John, often referred to as Jesusโ€™ High Priestly Prayer. This passage captures Jesusโ€™ final prayer with his disciples before his crucifixion, emphasizing themes of glory, eternal life, unity, and divine protection.

The Content of the Prayer
Jesus begins by praying for himself and his mission:

โ€œFather, the hour has come; glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify youโ€ (v.1).

He affirms that he has completed the work given to him and now requests to be restored to the divine glory he shared with the Father before creation (v.5).

He then prays for his disciples:

They are described as those given to him by the Father from the world (v.6).
They have received and believed Jesusโ€™ words, recognizing that he came from God (v.8).
Jesus explicitly states, โ€œI am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given meโ€ (v.9), highlighting a special intercessory role for believers.
He asks the Father to protect them and to keep them united, echoing the unity between the Father and the Son:
โ€œHoly Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are oneโ€ (v.11).

Hulubaton 1:7-10 (Proverbs 1:7-10)

From the Ang Pulong Sang Dios (APD) translation emphasizes that true wisdom begins with reverence for God, while foolishness leads to rejection of correction. The text defines a buang-buang (fool) as someone who lacks knowledge of God and His commands, refusing to be corrected.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe verses specifically state:
โ€Ž
โ€ŽVerse 7: "Kon ang isa ka tawo gusto nga magmaalamon dapat magtahod siya sa GINOO. Ang tawo nga buang-buang indi gusto sang kaalam kag indi niya gusto nga matadlong ang iya pamatasan." (If a person wants to be wise, they must revere the LORD. The foolish person does not want wisdom and does not want their behavior corrected.)
โ€ŽVerses 8-9: Children are instructed to listen to their parents' discipline, which serves as a "coronet of grace" and a "chain of honor."
โ€ŽVerse 10: Children are warned not to follow the temptations of sinful people.

Today marks the end of a beautiful journey, but also the beginning of something greater in the hearts of our children.

As we look around, we see joyful facesโ€”our dear children stepping onto the stage, proudly receiving their awards. Each smile tells a story of growth, courage, friendship, and faith. Accompanied by their loving parents and guardians, this moment becomes even more meaningfulโ€”a shared victory, a celebration of love and support.

To our little ones, from Nursery to Kindergarten under the care of Teacher Freziel Caรฑones, to our Middle Elementary guided by Teacher Chezka Nicolas, and our Older Elementary led by Teacher Alfia Maquilingโ€”you have all done wonderfully. You came with excitement, curiosity, and energy, and now you leave with hearts filled with Godโ€™s Word, new friendships, and unforgettable memories.

๐˜พ๐™๐™ž๐™ก๐™™๐™ง๐™š๐™ฃ, today is also your moment to say thank youโ€”thank you for the lessons learned, the songs sung, the stories shared, and the love you felt throughout this week. May you carry these experiences with you wherever you go.

Your presence today, standing beside them, reminds us that faith begins at home and grows stronger together.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to our beloved Resident Pastor, Nancy Gregorio Regino , for her guidance, prayers, and unwavering support in nurturing the spiritual growth of our children.

Day 5 of our Vacation Church School was full of energy, creativity, and purpose! ๐ŸŽ‰ The kids were grouped according to their age levels, allowing each group to enjoy activities designed just for themโ€”helping them focus, learn, and grow in the best way possible.

From the youngest to the oldest, every group had their moment to shine:
๐ŸŽถ Joyful singing and lively dancing that filled the room with praise
๐ŸŽจ Creative arts and crafts where kids expressed their faith in colorful ways
๐Ÿ“– Engaging Bible storytelling that made Godโ€™s Word come alive
๐Ÿค Team-based activities and games that built friendships and confidence

Each group was guided with care, making sure every child felt included, encouraged, and excited to participate. The energy was contagious, and the smiles said it all!

As we wrap up Day 5, we celebrate not just the fun, but the hearts touched and lessons learned. ๐Ÿ’› Thank you, parents, for trusting us to be part of your childrenโ€™s faith journey!
