We recently concluded our 6th AnniPETsary and words cannot fully express how grateful we are for your heartfelt support over the past six years.
The journey has not always been easy, but through hardwork, perseverance & dedication we were able to achieve this significant milestone for our clinic. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the unwavering efforts of my CAAVS Family - Sherly Ann , Kwi Ni Plando Keith Brian Lucero & Vincent Budiongan .
Thank you for believing in us and being part of our journey. We look forward to serving you for many years to come.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our clients, family, friends and sponsors namely - ZOETIS PHILS, PETCARE ESSENTIALS, PET IDEAS, PAWRMA, ANIMED, CTU- BARILI VETMED STUDENTS & MUNICIPALITY OF COMPOSTELA.
Cotton bud tip stuck in dog's ears
If a cotton bud tip is accidentally stuck in your dog's ear, do not attempt to remove it through tweezers or any tools, you might push it into the deeper portion of the ear canal or worst you might hit the ear drum.
Even if your dog looks fine , please schedule a visit. Your VET will use an otoscope to locate the tip and safely remove it. If your dog is too anxious, he/she might need light sedation for your dog's safety and your safety.

Did you know that there are certain dog breeds genetically predisposed to Canine Parvovirus ?
This makes them most likely to harbor the virus compared to other dog breeds and will have severe complications
Among these breeds are;
• Rottweilers
• Doberman Pinchers
• Bull Terriers
• Labradors
• English Spring Spaniels
• German Shepherd
Please visit your nearest Vet for proper guidance regarding Parvo Virus prevention.

Intestinal volvulus ( twisting of intestine)
This is life threatening to our pets, time bounded emergency cases where the bowel twists upon itself, this blocks blood supply and causes rapid tissue death. Immediate veterinary surgery is needed in order to untangle the intestine, remove dead tissue and prevent fatal shock.
Possible factors that may contribute:
- drinking or eating quickly
- swallowing excessive air
- running after meals
Emergency cases are challenging because this is a life threatening situation that requires fast & quick thinking in order to treat physical injuries, unconsciousness, poisoning, and illnesses that might not show their full effects for 24-48 hours.
Keeping your pet's medical information and your Vet's contact information will help a lot.
It is also important for the attending Vet, vet team & owner to stay calm, assess the situation in order to provide relevant information needed.
