Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office

The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council led by the Hon. Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee
through the office of DRRM headed by LDRRMO III Engr. Jonathan R. Go, Jr.
Through Admin and Training section with Mr. Leonor Atom Jr. D. Paqueo, Section Head
together with staff Mr. Jeffrey Miralles and Ms. Sheley Bagnol IEC In-charge,
conduct an awareness campaign on RA 10121 known as the "Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010" and IEC on Disaster Preparedness on what to prepare, what to do before, during and after disaster strikes held at Tayawod Elementary School.

The aim of the said education campaign on DRRM is to promote an Informed, Alert, and Self-reliant school and community. It was actively participated by the School Head Teacher II Mrs. Rebecca B. Paglinawan and teaching staff, GPTA President and officials, stakeholders, parents, and pupils of Tayawod ES.

The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council led by the LDRRMC Chairperson Hon. Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee through the Office of Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management headed by Engr. Jonathan R. Go, Jr., under Operations and Warning division with the the section head, LDRRMO II Ms. Dinah E. Dicap together with Mr. Zamboy S. Samontina and Tristan Bryton A. Sajulga Operations and Warning personnel, conduct First Aid and Basic Life Support training in Barangay Bagakay, Claver, Surigao del Norte during the conduct of Barangay Visitation.

The said activity was actively participated by the Local Officials headed by Hon. Georgia D. Gokiangkee, Hon. Vice Mayor Leah D. Patan, Hon. Renato D. Tiro, Punong Barangay of Bagakay Hon. Sarlyn Roble and council members Hon. Noel V. Opusa, Hon. Jimmy Pescueso, SK Federation President Hon. Mary Ann E. Sarmiento, Uniformed personnel from PNP, barangay health workers, youths and barangay functionaries.

Technical Working Group (TWG) of the recently concluded 3-Day Formulation Workshop cm Writeshop of Contingency Plan for Emerging and Re-Emerging Infectious Disease (EREID) of the Municipality of Claver July 24-26, 2024 held at 2nd Floor Legislative Building, Tayaga, Claver.

The National Disaster Resilience Month gears toward building resilience.

In connection to this, the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council headed by the Hon. Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee through the office of MDRRMO-LGU Claver under Admin and Training section with the section head Mr. Leonor Atom Jr. D. Paqueo and Ms. Sheley Bagnol IEC staff conduct an intensive information education campaign on disaster preparations and readiness, at the same time facilitate the giving of hygiene kits and disaster preparedness flyers in Sabang Elementary School together with the School Head Teacher III Mrs. Cristina V. Vertudazo, teachers, parents, stakeholders and children.

This is in preparation for the upcoming opening of classes the conduct of IEC on DRRM aim to heighten the awareness and be prepared to any disaster that may occur to build a more Safer, Adaptive and Resilience school and community anchored with this years' theme: "Bantayog ng Katatagan at ang Pagbubuklod sa Layuning kahandaan".

Participation to Brigada Eskwela 2024 and distribution of IEC Materials at Sapa Elementary School Brgy. Sapa, Claver, Surigao del Norte.

Led by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council headed by Hon. Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee thru the office of DRRM, MENRO, line agencies the Bureau of Fire Protection Claver Central Fire Station, Claver-MPS, Coast Guard, AFP-30IB, Brgy. Cabugo Council and functionaries headed by Punong Brgy. Hon. Jave N. Gepulla joined activity in Brgy. Cabugo beach for the Coastal clean-up.

This event formed as part of the activities lined up for the month of NDRM observance with the theme: " Bantayog ng Katatagan at ang Pagbubuklod sa Layuning Kahandaan. "

The kind of activity which engage people in maintaining natural habitats, remove trash and debris from beaches, waterways and other water bodies to achieve a more safer and resilient community.
