Last night was truly memorable as I witnessed TEAM CLAVER achieve a historic 3-peat Grand Slam victory in the Governor’s Cup Men’s Basketball Tournament, reigning champions in 2023, 2024, and now 2026.

Honestly, I was not even supposed to attend the finals. Earlier that afternoon, we were at the SP Committee Hearing and the original plan was to return to the office afterward. Even during our coffee break at Café Ethereal with my media team—who were assigned to cover the championship game—I was still undecided about going.

It was only at the very last minute, when we dropped off the media team at the rear parking area of the Provincial Gymnasium, that I finally decided to stay and watch.

And what a perfect decision it turned out to be.

It was actually my first time ever watching a sporting event inside the Provincial Gym, and to witness a championship finals at that made the experience even more special. Deep inside, I kept telling myself, “This should be my first-time lucky night… Claver must win this.”

And they did.

The energy, the passion, the unity of the crowd, and the determination of Team Claver created a moment I will never forget. Last night was more than just a basketball game—it was history, pride, and legacy unfolding right before our eyes.

Congratulations once again, TEAM CLAVER!

P.S. Here are some captured moments from last night — not really of the game itself, but of my facial expressions throughout the championship experience. 😅 The emotions, tension, excitement, and happiness were simply priceless.

Congratulations to the finals-bound and defending champions, Claver Team, after a dominant semis win against Spades!

The last time I watched their semifinal game, it was a full-on cardiac match — tense from start to finish — but they eventually went on to capture the championship. That’s why I made sure to watch again this year, hoping to bring a little good omen once more.

Gladly, this time was different. No heart attacks needed — just a relaxing and chill afternoon witnessing superb volleyball action, solid teamwork, and a convincing straight-sets victory.

One more win to defend the crown. Finals bound!

Work may be serious, but strong leadership also knows the value of camaraderie, shared laughs, and moments of connection. Chilling at Hayanggabon EcoPark after the meeting reminds us that teamwork grows stronger beyond the conference table.
