USJ-R Engineering Consortium

The University of San Jose–Recoletos School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA), through its Ugma Ecoservation Program, conducted an environmental initiative in Barangay Malubog, Cebu City in partnership with Vivant Foundation and Ayala Land. The activity engaged students, faculty, and staff in the care and maintenance of approximately 5,000 native tree seedlings, incorporating sustainable practices such as vegetation management and the use of banana trunks for natural moisture retention. Emphasizing long-term environmental stewardship, the initiative supports global sustainability efforts, particularly Climate Action and Life on Land, while reinforcing collective responsibility in preserving Cebu’s ecological resources.
