After googling for the last 10 minutes, I happened to come across a 'weird' website that happens to interpret the meaning behind certain numbers

And here's what I found...

When it comes to spiritual meanings, 233 is an angel number.

"It represents spirituality which means whoever sees this number constantly should take a spiritual path to resolve their problems.

One of the greatest acts of spirituality is helping others and making their life easier.

When you put honest efforts to help others, divine powers conspire the whole world in your favor and you receive the reward."

Now, I'm not a firm believer in some spiritual voodoo.

A couple of days ago, an aspiring copywriter named Josiah reached out to me to complement what I was doing for up-and-coming Filipino copywriters.

A year ago I was like Josiah...

Young, hungry, and ready to learn the science of persuasive writing

I always kept pushing

Even though some people thought it wasn't worth doing

But, for the first time in my life...

I felt like I wanted to prove something

Not to others, but for myself

I always had this mindset

And I did get one eventually... but it took me 105 tries.

What most people don't understand is

You don't win the game of life by banking on others

You gotta do the work...

You gotta build habits...

And stick with it.

And month after month, you'll eventually grow based on the habits you build.

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither should your freelance business.

All I've ever heard about marriage is that it's hard

When we were young, we always had this image of happily ever after stuck in our heads

It was always the same story plot from Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid and other 90's princess stories.

Princess meets Prince Charming.

Prince Charming saves the day.

And they both live happily ever after.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧-𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘆-𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲.

No wonder they call it "fantasy"

Because when you get older and watch other movies, read books, and experience being in a relationship in the real world...

You realize soon enough that marriage is really hard.

(Especially when you got people telling you the day before your wedding "Good luck... you'll need it.")

I mean it's tough, I won't lie

But what if I told you, it doesn't have to be hard...

You'd probably think I'm bluffing right?

Quite honestly, coming from someone who's recently tied the knot

I've discovered one single philosophy that makes things a whole lot easier with my wife.

BUILD HABITS.

It's simple.

It's repeatable.

The habits you develop can have a huge impact on what kind of marriage you're going to have.

The truth is, there are dozen of healthy habits that you could take up each day to benefit both the happiness of you and your partner.

It could be as small as saying "I love you" when you wake up.

Or just simply asking "how'd your day go?"

Small habits go a long way when you choose a path as BIG as marriage.

It's sorta like how you build habits to become a successful copywriter.

You need to build small habits each day, so every day you become 1% better.

I have a confession...🤫

I always try to avoid these people at the mall.

No hard feelings, but I'm just plain scared of them 😅.

I remember going to SM one time...

As I walked through the doors and subtly listened to their "𝑊𝑒'𝑣𝑒 𝑔𝑜𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢" jingle for the 1000th time...

I tried reaching my pocket to get my grocery list.

All of a sudden, right in my face, a salesman appeared with a brochure in his hands.

And wouldn't you know it, he's from COCO LIFE.

"𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗜𝗥, 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗞𝗔 𝗡𝗔 𝗕𝗔?"

Terror-stricken, I froze like a rabbit caught in the headlights, trying to figure out what the crap is going on.

Now luckily my stupid brain came to my rescue and squeaked out this awkward line...

"Ay wait sir, mag-CR muna ko".

Just like that, I was saved by the bell.

Genius right?

If you're like me, then you'll probably vibe with what I'm about to say next.

"𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐨 -- 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐲."

It makes perfect sense...

We all WANT something...

NEED something...

And DESIRE to have more...

But the moment someone pushes you to BUY, BUY, BUY, a huge RED FLAG goes up.

Enter buyer resistance.

"Am I being TRICKED into buying???"

"Well, no chance Jose, ain't gonna happen."

So here's lesson #1 for persuading prospects into buyers...

Before you can get someone to care about your product a.k.a solution...

They first need to care about the PROBLEM.

Make sense?

When you go shopping, you don't go hunting for solutions.

We first sit down and wonder what problems we need to solve.

Once we're presented with problems, we then go hunting for solutions...

See, if that salesman had sold me wet wipes that very instant.

I bet my ass, I would've bought it.

Why's that?

Because I had to solve a problem.

In fact, here's a simple formula on how to sell without selling...

IDENTIFY the PROBLEM + PRESENT your PRODUCT as the SOLUTION + add a hint of PERSUASION → SALE

Now there's a right way to do this

But let's save that for another day...

[When I was 22, I only knew two things]

By the time I was 22 years old, I knew two things:
1. I wasn't happy with my career.
2. I would do anything and everything to feel unstuck and find my true passion.

It's hard to believe that almost 3 years ago, I was this mentally banged-out medical student that didn't feel like he belonged anywhere.

I remember I would bring out this small tablet anywhere I go, scrolling through medical books and notes like how an average person scrolls through 300 feet of mobile content every day.

Bloody hell that was hard.

I became anxious like there was resentment in me coated in guilt.

Guilt that made me feel like I'm some flawed imitation.

So one day, I asked myself... "What am I even doing here?"

Eventually, all the failing grades, sleepless nights, missed social events, and missing the burial of a very close friend, all caught up to me and it made me throw in the towel.

I thought I had my life already mapped out, but I guess it wasn't.

3 years past and I was fortunate enough to find and pursue my one true passion...

Direct response funnel copywriting.

Pursuing something you're truly passionate about isn't all rainbows and sunshine.

Especially when only a very small percentage of people that do pursue it become successful.

So, along my freelance journey, every time I feel like I'm some flawed imitation and face the same doubts of whether I belong...

I take a deep breath, compose myself and say: "Be grateful, not everyone has the chance to make a living off writing."

I cancel out all the noise:

❌"Am I a laughing stock because I chose a different path?"

❌"What if I fall short again?"

❌"How can I support someone financially with this?"

Stop.

I've seen people stay at their miserable job all their lives because they're scared of failure and criticism.

That's insane.

As a twenty-two year old, chances are you don't have a lot of responsibility.

Your canvas isn't finished.

Nothing is obligatory.

Making it the perfect time to take risks.

So why waste a second doing something you don't enjoy?

Thankfully, after taking a little bit of risk, the direct response copy gods have given me their blessings.

Because today I get to work with CEOs, Fortune 500 Consultants, and popular brands that you may see all over your Facebook feed.

I guess that's the gift of moving fast to find what you love.
