Cebu is still reeling from Typhoon Tino. Many families remain displaced; homes, livelihoods, and lives were lost. These are not just the effects of a “natural” disaster — they are the failures of a system that poured billions into flood control that didn’t protect us, and allowed unchecked developments that cut down trees and worsened the flooding.
As we continue our Kusinang Bayan efforts, we are raising monetary donations to help us gather materials for community calls, educational drives, and food preparations for the next kitchens.

For in-kind donations, you may drop them off at Cafe Baklita located at A-3 3884 R. Duterte St. Banawa, Cebu City in front of MHAM College.
We wouldn’t have made it this far without the strength we find in each other — in our collective care, our listening, and our shared push to hold the government accountable for the slow and insufficient response.
May you join us again in the next meals we prepare together.
Padayon.

Last weekend, we gathered at Luna Gazette for an afternoon of zine-making, recipe swapping, and shared stories 🍳✍🏽💌
Together, we turned favorite dishes into handmade zines, exchanged recipes with new friends, and talked about food beyond taste — as memory, care, and connection. The tables filled with color, crumbs, and laughter — a small archive of warmth and community.
Thank you to everyone who came through, stayed, shared, and made with us. 🌾

Come make a zine with us! 🖍️
In this community hangout, we’ll turn personal (or not) recipes into simple, handmade zines. Discuss how food goes beyond taste and nourishment; how cooking and eating can be gendered, and share food memories from chosen family.
No experience needed! Just bring a recipe that means something to you, and we’ll guide you through the rest. Each person will make two zines, one to keep and one to exchange (swapping them with new friends). We will collect one zine from each participant to form a small collective archive. Get your recipe ready!
All materials will be provided – just bring yourself! Registration is free.
