Magat River Integrated Irrigation System
NIA MARIIS is among the biggest irrigation system of National Irrigation Administration.
It owns and operates the Magat Dam which provides irrigation service to 90,000 hectares of riceland in Isabela province and portions of Quirino and Ifugao provinces.

The National Irrigation Administration - Magat River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-MARIIS) attended the CY 2026 2nd Regular Quarterly Meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Isabela on June 3, 2026, at the Isabela Emergency Operations Center, City of Ilagan.
Engr. Calvin P. Rabiles of the Flood Forecasting and Instrumentation Section of the Dam and Reservoir Division (DRD) represented NIA-MARIIS during the meeting and presented updates on Magat Dam operations and reservoir elevation forecasts for the next quarter. The presentation also considered the possible effects of El Niรฑo in the coming months, in line with disaster preparedness and water resource management efforts in the province.
NIA-MARIIS reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety while efficiently delivering irrigation services to support farmers throughout its service areas.

The Magat River Integrated Irrigation System (MARIIS), through its Division IV Office, conducted โNew Employees OnBoarding Programโ for Job Order, Casual, and Permanent employees facilitated by Personnel and Records Unit led by Ms. Yolanda A. Gauiran, Administrative Services Officer A, pursuant to NIA MC No. 43, s.2021 otherwise known as the NIA New Employees Onboarding Program, on May 26, 2026, at the MARIIS Division IV Office in Cauayan City, Isabela.
In his message, Engr. Jovimar M. Bariuad, Division IV Manager, encouraged the participants to uphold their responsibilities as public servants and to align their dedication with the agency's goals.
The onboarding program introduced participants to the mandate, vision, mission, core values, quality policy, quality objectives, organizational structure, and services of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), along with key information on employee policies, office procedures, payroll processes, performance evaluation, and other workplace guidelines. It also highlighted employee welfare programs and administrative policies that promote professionalism, accountability, and efficiency in public service.
Through this activity, the Office continues to equip newly hired employees with the knowledge, skills. behavior, and guidance necessary to effectively perform their duties and contribute to the agency's mission of providing efficient and sustainable irrigation services to farmers.

Walang tigil ang pagbabantay ng NIA-MARIIS sa Division III upang matiyak na tuloy-tuloy at maayos na makarating ang tubig patubig sa mga sakahang umaasa rito ngayong panahon ng operasyon ng irigasyon.
Sa mga nagdaang araw, mahigpit na minonitor ng Division III ang mga irrigation canals at irrigation facilities upang maagapan agad ang anumang posibleng aberya at masigurong maayos ang distribusyon ng tubig sa ibaโt ibang lugar na nasasakupan nito. Ang operasyon ay pinangunahan nina Engr. Derson B. Casiano, Operations and Maintenance Section Head at Engr. Jaime M. Lara, Division Manager A, katuwang ang Operations Team sa patuloy na pagsasagawa ng inspeksyon at monitoring activities.
Hanggang sa kasalukuyan, nagpapatuloy ang masigasig na pagbabantay at pagmomonitor ng mga WRFO, SWRFT, kasama ang mga Area Engineer ng Area 1 at Area 2 upang mapanatili ang maayos na operasyon ng mga irrigation facilities at agarang matugunan ang anumang suliraning maaaring makaapekto sa serbisyo ng patubig para sa kapakinabangan ng mga magsasakang pinaglilingkuran ng NIA-MARIIS Division III.

NIA MARIIS conducted a Pre-Construction Meeting for the 2026 projects on June 1, 2026 at Division III Training Center. The meeting was headed by Engr. Jaime M. Lara, Division Manager A, together with Engr. Jimmy F. Bato, Head of the Engineering and Repair Unit and Engr. Derson B. Casiano, Head of Operations and Maintenance Section. Also present were the designated Project-In-Charge (PICs) for the various 2026 projects, along with the contractors responsible for their implementation.
The activity served as a venue to discuss project plans, implementation schedules, technical requirements, contract provisions, safety protocols, and other essential guidelines to ensure the timely and successful ex*****on of the projects following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed on May 29, 2026. It also provided an opportunity to strengthen coordination and collaboration among project engineers, Project-In-Charge personnel, and contractors in preparation for project implementation.
Through the conduct of the meeting and contract signing activity, all concerned participants expressed their commitment to delivering quality infrastructure projects in accordance with established standards and timelines, thereby contributing to the continuous improvement of irrigation services and the welfare of the farming communities served by NIA-MARIIS Division III.

NIA-MARIIS successfully conducted a ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with six beneficiary associations, namely: Billoca IA, Timek Ti Mannalon IA, CEE Upper CIA, D4 Series CIA, D2 IMT CIA, and Mansibang IA, at MARIIS D4, Cauayan City, Isabela, on May 28, 2026.
This partnership establishes a livelihood program to grant members access to funds for agricultural production, entrepreneurial ventures, and other activities aimed at boosting their economic capacity.
Through this initiative, MARIIS reaffirms its commitment to empowering Irrigators' Associations and supporting sustainable agricultural development across its service areas.

MARIIS conducted Orientation of Ready-to-Lay (RTL) Chicken Livelihood Program through Division IV on May 28, 2026 at MARIIS Division IV, Cauayan City, Isabela.
Mr. Ismael G. Miranda served as the resource speaker, During the orientation, key information about the RTL Chicken Livelihood Project was clearly presented, including housing design, production management, and monitoring requirements.
The participants actively engaged in the session, asking insightful questions to maximize the potential of the project, all of which were expertly addressed by the speaker.
Through this initiative, NIA-MARIIS reinforces its unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive support that goes beyond irrigation, empowering farmers to achieve sustainable livelihoods and economic resilience.

๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐: A Mass Contract Signing was successfully conducted earlier today at the NIA-MARIIS Division II Conference Hall, led by Engr. Ronnie B. Besa, covering ten (10) projects under the 2026 implementation program.
The signed contracts include various RNIS packages covering the municipalities of Cabatuan, Ramon, San Mateo, and San Isidro, as well as one (1) package for RESTONIS. The activity forms part of the agencyโs continuing efforts to advance irrigation infrastructure development across its service areas.
