The IIEE Northern Samar Chapter is launching a Donation Drive for Cawayan Integrated School, Brgy. Cawayan, Catarman, Northern Samar, as part of our OPLAN DAGITAB: Brigada Eskwela 2026 initiative.
This project aims to improve and restore the schoolโs electrical system, ensuring a safer, more reliable, and conducive learning environment for students and teachers.

The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. โ Northern Samar Chapter successfully conducted its 2026 1st General Membership Meeting with Hybrid Technical Seminars yesterday, May 16, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM at JS Building, Catarman, Northern Samar, gathering electrical practitioners, students, industry stakeholders, and participants from both face-to-face and virtual platforms.
The program formally commenced with welcome remarks delivered by Engr. Leovin Calubag, Chapter Vice President for Internal Affairs, setting the tone for a full day of technical learning, professional engagement, and organizational updates.
The first technical session was presented by Engr. Arwin Jay U. Corsino with the topic, โSolar PV Systems Design and Installation.โ Participants from both onsite and online platforms highly appreciated the clarity, technical depth, and practical insights shared during the discussion.
The Chapter was also honored by the physical attendance of Engr. Rodrigo A. Almaden Jr., Governor of the IIEE Eastern and Central Visayas Region, who shared meaningful insights regarding the Chapter theme, regional developments, and updates from the National Office. Despite traveling from Tacloban City within the day together with his team, he graciously joined the event and was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and token of gratitude by the Chapter.
Joining virtually, IIEE National President Engr. Robert Mabulay, P*E, ACPE, delivered an inspiring message to all attendees, sharing valuable perspectives aligned with the organizationโs theme and important updates from the national leadership. The Chapter is deeply honored by his participation and support.
Following the lunch break, the afternoon technical sessions immediately resumed with Engr. DarWin Dula Orsolino presenting the topic, โProvisions of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems as per RA 9514 (Fire Code of the Philippines of 2008),โ followed by Engr. Rimar C. Largo with the topic, โNORSAMELCO Application Procedures for Net Metering under the Renewable Energy Act of 2008.โ
Both sessions generated meaningful discussions and active engagement among the attendees, particularly on practical applications, compliance requirements, and current industry practices related to Solar PV systems and net metering processes. Participants highly appreciated the clarity, relevance, and technical depth of the discussions, making the sessions both informative and highly beneficial to practicing professionals and aspiring practitioners alike.
Adding excitement to the event, the traditional GMM raffle draws were conducted for the face-to-face participants, where multiple prizes were awarded, including 1st prize winners, 2nd prize winners, 3rd prize winners, and 10 consolation prize recipients.
One of the highlights of the program was the recognition of the nine (9) successful Registered Master Electrician (RME) passers who completed the Chapterโs RME Review and Mentoring Program, led by the Committee Chairman, Engr. Darwin Lambino de Asis , P*E, ACPE. The passers were awarded Certificates of Recognition in honor of their achievement and dedication.
The General Membership Meeting Proper was conducted during the latter part of the program, led by Engr. Mechille M Fabiala , Chapter President, together with the Chapter Officers, Ex Officio and members. Important updates regarding the current status of the Chapter, upcoming activities, organizational plans, and member participation initiatives were discussed.
