Recent purchase of 50 sets (300W LED solar-powered lamps) bring new hopes for the completion of slated projects in relation to the envisioned municipal-wide illumination of public conveyances. The commitment to rehabilitate and improve existing streetlighting systems first saw light upon Mayor Luz E, Ricasio's incumbency as the town's leader.
Initial strides to execute the project experienced unexpected setbacks, as inspections revealed extensive pilferage of installed wiring and marginal damage to existing structures due to recurrent acts of vandalism. These discoveries led to the decision to provide funding for the acquisition of solar-powered technology to replace the old system, hence eliminating the typical risk posed by petty thievery.
The first batch of solar-powered streetlighting installations were executed last year along sitio talagpucao area and baywalk area (poblacion), and several side-streets within the vicinity. The newly-acquired units shall comprise the second batch of installations which shall be installed to replace the remaining working units from the old system, which shall in turn be relocated to other areas, to achieve uniformity and simple aesthetics.
Total completion of programmed works are expected to finish by June next year, if things would progress as planned, and this shall pave the way for other related projects to commence.
