Tablac ES students receive free school supplies via Brigada Eskwelaโ€™s โ€˜Edukahon Projectโ€™

In a bid to ensure that no student is left behind as the new academic year begins, Tablac Elementary School distributed free school supplies to its entire student body during the opening of classes today.

The initiative was made possible through the Edukahon Project, a key campaign under the school's 2026 Brigada Eskwela program.

According to Annabelle Alviento, School Principal I, the essential supplies were fully funded by the generous cash donations of various external stakeholders who rallied to support the opening of classes.

Principal Alviento expressed her deep gratitude to the community partners and stakeholders whose contributions turned the project into a reality, noting that such collaborations remain vital to the success of learners.

Public elementary and secondary schools across the Schools Division of Candon City launched the first day of classes for School Year (SY) 2026โ€“2027 today, June 8, adopting the Department of Education's newly mandated three-term academic transition.

Following the strict directives of DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2026, all public schools formally opened the four-day "Opening Block" period running from June 8 to 11, 2026.

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Candon City emphasized that the first four days are strictly designated for non-traditional academic programming, focusing instead on orientation, diagnostic routing, learner profiling, and mental health check-ins to comfortably ease students into the restructured calendar.

Monitoring teams visited Day 1 across various Candon City schools.

The SDO Candon City technical teams will continue monitoring the schoolsโ€™ compliance across the division until the Opening Block concludes on June 11.

Formal subject-area lessons under the calendar's "Instructional Block" are slated to begin division-wide on Monday, June 15, 2026.
