21 kilometers later... 🏃🏻♀️✨
This is how I decompress after two intense weeks of pre-finals and finals in law school. And honestly, it’s all about acceptance.
It has been 13 years since my RunRio days. I’ve seen the evolution of running. From race kits with timing sensors tied to our shoelaces, to the Fitbit and Garmin era where everyone tracked every possible metric. I’ve completed a full marathon, 42 kilometers, back in 2018.
But after all these years, I’ve realized that running was never about the gadgets, the pace, or chasing personal records. It’s about consistency.
Being fit and strong is not about losing weight overnight. It’s about building a body that can still carry you through 21 kilometers today and, hopefully, 42 kilometers even in your senior years. It’s about showing up, one run at a time.
People often talk about mental toughness, but for me, it’s also about discipline and time management. We can all make excuses. Life gets busy. Work gets demanding. Law school gets overwhelming. But I choose to make time for this, not for anyone else, but for myself.
I’m not here to thank any doctor for making me physically strong. I thank God for carrying me through every struggle, every ache, every moment of mental and physical exhaustion, and even the setbacks that taught me to slow down and avoid injury.
This semester drained me. The past two weeks were exhausting. But sometimes the best therapy isn't found in a classroom, an office, or even in rest.
Sometimes, it's found one step at a time, on an open road, with nothing but gratitude and faith carrying you forward.
Thank You, Lord. 🤍
thanks for not letting me be part of the principal sponsors kahit katabi ko si ninang 🤣🤣🤣
