Inspired Learning Tours’ FRUIT ORCHARD TOUR concluded on a high note, with participants returning home enriched with new knowledge on tropical fruit and spice farming.
Beyond the learning experience, the tour also deepened everyone’s appreciation of Malaysia’s cultural heritage — particularly its strong connection to durian, reflected in the many ways it is celebrated and promoted to both locals and foreign visitors.
From farms to local communities, the journey offered meaningful insights into agriculture, culture, and tourism — truly an inspiring Aral at Gala experience.

This Dragon Fruit Farm in Sepang, Malaysia focuses on agritourism and value-adding in attracting customers. While they also showcase their demo farm in the area, tourists are entertained by their many ways of creative presentation of dragon fruit products like this smoking dragon fruit shake.

Part of the tour at Selangor is the demonstration on how to make the Malaysian salted egg. It includes the use of burnt rice hull and mud mixed with salt and a little vinegar.
The participants of Fruit Orchard Tour Malaysia went around what’s probably one of the biggest government-initiated fruit farms in the country. This 946-hectare farm in Selangor serves as a research center, production site and agritourism spot. It started to ensure food security in its region but success in production now allows them to export some of their harvest.

ILT’s Fruit Orchard Tour Malaysia started with an update on the state of the durian industry in the Philippines given by the Durian Industry Association of Davao City president, Emmanuel Belviz. It was followed by an input on agritourism and value-adding for durian and other tropical fruits by Mary Grace Belviz. The couple, both agriculturists from UPLB, are the owners of the Belviz Farm and Rosario Delicacies. Mr. Belviz is also the Filipino expert for the tour who guides the participants as they visit orchards in Malaysia.
