Matthew 13:54-58

At that time, Jesus returned to His hometown and began teaching in their synagogue. The people who heard Him were amazed and said,
“Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers? Isn’t He the carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother’s name Mary, and aren’t His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? Aren’t all His sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”
And they took offense at Him.
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own town and in his own home.”
Because of their lack of faith, He did not perform many miracles there.

Matthew 13:47-53

“The kingdom of heaven is like a large net that was let down into the sea and caught all kinds of fish. When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad ones away.
This is how it will be at the end of the age: the angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
‘Have you understood all these things?’ Jesus asked.
‘Yes,’ they replied.
He said to them, ‘Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.’
When Jesus had finished these parables, He left that place.”

John 11:19-27

At that time, many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them about their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet Him, but Mary stayed at home. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give You whatever You ask of Him.”
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.”

Matthew 13:36-43

At that time, Jesus left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to Him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the w**ds in the field.”
He answered, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The w**ds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
As the w**ds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will w**d out of His kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
