The Philippine Veterinary Medical Association – Amihang Mindanao Chapter invites veterinarians, researchers, and practitioners to submit abstracts for the 14th Regional Conference to be held in Cagayan de Oro City this coming August 18-20, 2026. 🐾

Interested presenters are requested to accomplish the official abstract template and submit it together with their CV/Resume.

March is Rabies Awareness Month

The PVMA – Amihang Mindanao Chapter successfully conducted a Free Veterinary Consultation and Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive today, March 15, 2026, at Centrio Ayala Mall, Cagayan de Oro City, in celebration of Rabies Awareness Month.

Pet owners and their furry companions received free consultations and life-saving anti-rabies vaccines, promoting responsible pet ownership and community health.

The activity was made even more meaningful with the presence and support of officers from the PVMA Amihang Mindanao Chapter, working together to help keep our communities rabies-free.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this advocacy!

A Milestone for PVMA - Amihang Mindanao Chapter

This recognition affirms the chapter’s official status and its active role in strengthening the veterinary profession in Northern Mindanao.

This achievement reflects the collective dedication, unity, and commitment of our members who continuously work to advance animal health, professional excellence, and service to our communities. PVMA-AMC SPEARHEADS LOCAL OATH-TAKING CEREMONY FOR VETERINARIANS

December 10, 2025- The Philippine Veterinary Medical Association-Amihang Mindanao Chapter (PVMA-AMC), an affiliate chapter of the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), spearheaded a face-to-face oath-taking ceremony, together with the Professional Regulation Commission Region X (PRC-R10) and the Profession Regulatory Board for Veterinary Medicine (PRB-Veterinary Medicine) at Malberry Suites, Cagayan de Oro City.

One hundred thirty eight (138) newly licensed veterinarians (12.45% of the total number of VLE October 2025 passers) from the following universities participated in the event:

1. Central Mindanao University, Bukidnon;

2. Southwestern University, Cebu;

3. University of Southern Mindanao, Cotabato; and

4. Visayas State University, Leyte.

The event was graced by officers from PVMA National Chapter, PRC-10, and PRB-Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mary Eve Rubio, PVMA-AMC President, welcomed the participants and acknowledged the guests. Hon. Julie L. Sabalza, PRC-R10 Director, gave a short message and PRC updates to the inductees. Hon. Tomas M. Acorda, DVM PRB Member, delivered a keynote address and facilitated the Oath of Professionals of newly licensed veterinarians. Dr. Marie Vivienne F. Casino, PVMA-Council of Ethics Chairperson, gave a short seminar on Ethical Practice in Veterinary Medicine. The PVMA National Chapter, represented by BOD Dr. Lourdes Socorro, administered the Veterinarians Oath. The program was then formally closed by Dr. Keeno Ian A. Moralde, PVMA-AMC Vice President.

PINNING CEREMONY-TRANSITION FROM ACADEMIC LIFE TO THE PROFESSION

We honored our newly registered veterinarians, the new addition to the backbone of the veterinary workforce in our country together with their loved ones through a pinning ceremony. It was a profound testament of their transition from their academic life into their profession. This was initiated by the organization as a symbolic rite of their professional commitment to the veterinary practice. Moreover, the ceremony served as an acknowledgment of their loved ones’ support, emphasizing their role as a lodestar as they navigate through uncertainties and hardships. They were given the opportunity to take part in the dedication of the inductees to the profession.

A total of 138 inductees or 12.45 % of the 1,108 passers of the OCTOBER 2025 VLE graced our face-to-face oath taking at Malberry Suites, Cagayan de Oro City last December 10, 2025. We had graduates from the following universities:

1. Central Mindanao University, Bukidnon;
2. Southwestern University, Cebu;
3. University of Southern Mindanao, Cotabato; and
4. Visayas State University, Leyte.

We can't thank you enough for giving us the privilege to serve you, colleagues! Our family is growing. The veterinary profession in the country is thriving. And we promise to strive harder in serving as an avenue for the advancement of the veterinary profession not only here in Region 10 but across the country as well.

We, the PVMA-AMC, would like to thank you for the support. Our family keeps growing. We just recently welcomed our newly registered veterinarians and we couldn't be prouder of the veterinary profession in the region and the country as a whole.

Doctors, please know that you are in a profession that does not only focus on animal health and welfare but also promotes public health and environmental conservation. We serve as key players in this intricate tapestry of life. May this joyful season remind us all that we have chosen this profession for a reason. And that reason serves as our Northern star as we serve our purpose- to help those who cannot help themselves.
