The PHINMA COC ROTC Unit stood in unity as they joined the Freedom March in commemoration of the 84th Araw ng Kagitingan, culminating at the Dr. Jose Rizal Monument, Plaza Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City on April 09, 2026. This significant event allowed our cadets to walk in the footsteps of heroes, honoring the courage and resilience of those who fought for the liberty we enjoy today.

By participating in this historic march, the unit reaffirmed its commitment to the values of patriotism and self-sacrifice that define the Filipino spirit. Standing side-by-side with fellow service members and the community, the cadets demonstrated that the legacy of Bataan and Corregidor lives on through the discipline and dedication of today’s youth. The march served as a powerful reminder that freedom is a heritage to be protected and a responsibility to be earned through continuous service.

Guided by the core principles of Honor, Integrity, and National Service, the PHINMA COC ROTC Unit continues to take pride in honoring the milestones of our nation's history. We remain dedicated to developing leaders who not only excel in tactical training but also carry a deep reverence for the bravery that has shaped our democracy. The PHINMA COC ROTC Unit proudly celebrated a significant milestone as it held the Graduation Ceremony for the Cadet Officer Qualifying Course (COQC). After weeks of rigorous physical training, leadership challenges, and academic examinations, a new breed of student-leaders has emerged, ready to take on the mantle of responsibility within the corps. This ceremony marks the official transition of these cadets from aspirants to the next generation of officers who will lead the unit with discipline and integrity.

A total of 35 graduates successfully completed the course, representing the unity and strength of the institution across its locations. This elite group is composed of 27 graduates from the PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College Main Campus and 8 graduates from the PHINMA Cagayan de Oro Puerto Campus. Their combined success reflects the shared commitment of both campuses to producing capable leaders who are prepared to serve with excellence.

We were deeply honored to have COL BERNARD T RAGUS FS (GSC) PA, the Group Commander of the 10th Regional Community Defense Group (10RCDG), as our Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his keynote address, he emphasized the weight of leadership and the vital role of cadet officers in nation-building and community defense. As these 35 new officers prepare to lead their respective platoons, they carry with them the core values of Honor, Integrity, and National Service, poised to maintain the legacy of the PHINMA COC ROTC Unit.

On March 7, 2026, the COCROTC Unit spearheaded a meaningful tree planting initiative at DVAI, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City. Under the inspiring theme "Green Guardians: Sowing the Seeds of a Sustainable Future," the event brought together ROTC cadets to actively participate in environmental conservation. This endeavor aimed to foster a deeper sense of ecological responsibility among the participants, contributing to the beautification and ecological balance of the local community.

The tree planting activity was a resounding success, symbolizing the COCROTC Unit's commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. By planting new trees, the unit not only enhanced the natural landscape of Camp Evangelista but also promoted the long-term benefits of reforestation, such as improved air quality, biodiversity, and climate resilience. This effort underscores the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges and nurturing a sustainable future for generations to come.
