A Prayer for Zambales, Region III, and the Philippines Amidst the Floods and Severe Weather

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
— Psalm 46:1

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with humble and prayerful hearts as our communities face the dangers brought by severe flooding, monsoon rains, and tropical storms. We lift up the people of Zambales, Region III, and communities across the Philippines into Your loving and merciful hands.

Lord, extend Your mighty protection over every family and every individual affected by these difficult circumstances. Keep them safe from danger, especially those who are stranded, displaced, or unable to reach places of safety. Watch over children, older adults, persons with disabilities, and all those who are most vulnerable. Be their shelter when the waters rise and their refuge when fear takes hold.

Bring comfort to those who are frightened and strength to those who are weary. Be close to families who have been forced to leave their homes, to those who have lost their belongings and livelihoods, and to those whose lives have been suddenly disrupted. Remind them that they are not forgotten and that they do not have to face this season alone. Surround them with compassionate people who are willing to care, serve, and stand beside them.

We pray especially for the rescuers, volunteers, emergency personnel, local leaders, and all those working tirelessly to bring people to safety. Guide their hands, their decisions, and their every step. Grant them wisdom in moments of uncertainty, courage in the face of danger, strength when they are exhausted, and protection as they serve our communities.

Father, we ask that You provide for every family in need. Let food reach those who are hungry, clean water reach those who are thirsty, medicine reach those who are sick, and safe shelter reach those who have been displaced. Open the way for timely assistance and relief, and stir the hearts of individuals, organizations, and communities to respond with generosity, compassion, and love.

Lord, we ask for Your mercy upon our land. Calm the rains, lessen the severity of the weather, and cause the floodwaters to subside. Protect our communities from further destruction and preserve every precious life. Grant our leaders wisdom and discernment as they lead relief, rescue, and recovery efforts. May our communities remain united, looking after one another and extending help wherever it is needed.

For those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, be their comfort and strength. For those who have lost their homes, livelihoods, and possessions, give them the courage and resources to rebuild. As the waters recede and the skies become calm, lead our communities toward healing, recovery, and restoration.

And in the midst of this storm, Lord, teach us not only to pray, but also to become answers to prayer. Help us look beyond ourselves, recognize the needs around us, and extend whatever help we can. May compassion rise even when the waters rise, and may hope shine even in the darkest moments.

We entrust Zambales, Region III, and the entire Philippines to You, Lord. We place every family, every community, every rescue effort, and every uncertain tomorrow in Your hands.

And with faith in Your promises, we declare:
No weapon formed against us shall prosper.
You will watch over us and keep us from harm.
You are our refuge.
You are our strength.
You are our ever-present help in times of trouble.
And You will carry us through.

May Your peace calm every troubled heart.
May Your grace sustain those who are weary.

𝐏𝐂𝐁 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 2 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞-𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐋𝐂𝐔𝐂𝐎𝐀 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Polytechnic College of Botolan (PCB) successfully concluded Day 2 of the three-day ALCUCOA Accreditation today, August 19, 2026, with a series of community site monitoring visits, institutional facility tours, online class observations, and stakeholders, students and Faculty and staff feedback sessions that highlighted the college’s unwavering dedication to inclusive education and community extension.

The day began early at 8:50 a.m. with the simultaneous arrival of the esteemed accreditors at local development sites. One team of accreditors visited the historic Lakas community to evaluate the institution’s support for Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED), day-care outreach, and feeding programs, which concluded with a traditional tribal dance and a prayer for Apo Namalyari. Meanwhile, at 9:00 a.m., another team of accreditors traveled to Barangay Malomboy to review PCB’s flagship technology initiative, MABAIT, alongside the college deans and local officials.

The activities continued at 10:50 a.m. with an on-site Campus Tour Evaluation. The evaluators inspected several notable facilities, including the historic First Administration Building, the student art exhibition in the Cultural Hall, the Student Organizations and Advisers Office, and the PCB Museum.

In the afternoon, the validation process shifted to academic and performance metrics. Accreditors conducted live virtual class observations to review educational delivery methods. Concurrently, a formal evaluation assembly was held at the PCB Theater, bringing together Batch 1 stakeholders—including alumni, parents, and DepEd representatives—to assess institutional performance, followed by evaluations and interviews with Batch 2, students and Batch 3, PCB Faculty and Non-teaching staff.

The successful second day reflects PCB’s continued pursuit of quality, excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement as the institution moves forward with the final day of the ALCUCOA Accreditation.

𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙆 | The commitment of the Polytechnic College of Botolan (PCB) to community development shone brightly as accreditors Dr. Dalisay D. Brawner, Dr. Analiza Arcega, Dr. Ana Maria B. Fresnido, and Dr. Amalfi B. Tabin Jr. arrived at Lakas at approximately 8:50 a.m. today at Lakas to monitor its ongoing Community Extension initiatives, accompanied by the Institute of Education Dean, Dr. Myrna S. Pangan, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator, Dr. Mark Gantang and Assitant Extension Coordinator, Ma’am Juliana Degollado.

The Lakas community holds a rich history, having relocated to the area following a volcanic eruption in 1991. The program commenced with welcoming remarks and introductions from Fe Balbin, Lito Tubag Jugatan, and Yves Fabrigas, who officially welcomed the PCB accreditors and guests.

Following their arrival, the accreditors split into groups to thoroughly evaluate various program components: Dr. Arcega focused on the BECED and day-care initiatives; Dr. Tabin reviewed the BCAED and activities offered by PCB in the barangay; Dr. Fresnido inspected the library; and Dr. Brawner evaluated the BEED program.

During the visit, the accreditors interviewed program graduates, namely Carol Jugatan, Ordoja Jugatan, and Laureta Domulot. They reviewed the extension services provided by PCB in the school, which included outreach programs featuring learning sessions and feeding programs. Discussions also highlighted learning materials, authentic resources, and PCB’s steadfast dedication to helping Lakas. Both parties emphasized that even small-scale interventions create a profound, lasting impact on the community.

The program featured powerful insights and testimonies from local leaders and advisers. Fe Balbin, acting as adviser, highlighted the community's primary aspiration for Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED), ensuring that every single child gets to study so that no indigenous youth is left behind. She praised the implementation of IPED, which deeply impressed the accreditors, noting that these best practices serve as a model. Balbin stated, "Huwag silang kaawaan kundi tulungan sila. Turuan silang maabot ang pangarap," and added that they do not want to be viewed as perpetual beggars. She also called for strengthening the IPRA law and outlined a vision in which indigenous teachers educate their own youth.

Adding to these sentiments, tribal official Loret Bulanhigan emphasized the vital importance of maintaining cooperation, unity, and a strong, unbroken bond with their supporters. Tribal leader Ramel Cosme passionately spoke about cultural preservation, addressing parents' concerns that their culture might fade away with time. He powerfully affirmed, "Kahit hugasan ng ilang sabon ang kultura, hinding hindi ito mawawala", stressing the need to maintain their heritage. Furthermore, Lito Tubag Jugatan, chairperson of the Lakas community, restated their core goals: helping all indigenous youth finish their education while fiercely protecting their rights and culture.

The monitoring visit concluded around 10:00 a.m. with a traditional tribal dance and a prayer offered for Apo Namalyari, standing as a powerful testament to education, community partnership, and the enduring strength of indigenous culture in Lakas.

The Polytechnic College of Botolan (PCB) successfully concluded Day 1 of the three-day ALCUCOA Accreditation today, August 18, 2026, with a series of presentations, academic observations, on-site evaluations, and leadership interviews that highlighted the institution’s commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.

The day began at 8:25 a.m. with the warm arrival of the esteemed accreditors, who were welcomed by the PCB Dance Troupe with a vibrant Pinatubo Festival Dance. The opening program brought together PCB officials, Municipal Department Heads, Sangguniang Bayan members, IP community representatives, students, and the ALCUCOA Accreditors.

A key part of the morning program was the direction-setting led by Dr. Dalisay D. Brawner, Supervising Accreditor, under the theme, “Raising the Bar, Elevating Quality Assurance Together.” This was followed by the presentation of the program accreditors by the Supervising Technical Assistant, Assoc. Prof. Alain J. Anuevo, Director of the ICT Office at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa.

The program continued with the presentation of faculty eligibility for the Institute of Computing Studies and Institute of Education by their respective deans, Sir Paul Richie F. Asuncion and Dr. Myrna S. Pangan.

In the afternoon, the accreditors conducted the Campus Tour Evaluation, beginning with the Learning and Information Center and OSAS, followed by inspections of student organizations, the Guidance Office, School Clinic, ICS laboratories, bulletin boards, Research and Development Office, classrooms, and laboratory equipment. The activities also included closed-door assessments and interviews, including those with the College President, Dr. Mary Grace S. Manangan, and the School Administrator, Dr. Joy P. Cortez, which focused on institutional leadership, governance, and the College’s commitment to academic quality and development. Online class observations were also conducted in the Institute of Computing Studies.

The successful first day reflects PCB’s continuing pursuit of quality, excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement, as the institution moves forward with the remaining two days of the ALCUCOA Accreditation.
