Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) and the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam have officially formalized their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), establishing an International Library Network.
In response to the evolving landscape of higher education shaped by digital transformation and innovation, this partnership positions both institutions to enhance access to academic resources, strengthen knowledge connectivity, and support collaborative learning and research.
The initiative also aims to promote the development of digital libraries, smart learning spaces, and open academic ecosystems, while enabling capacity-building opportunities for library personnel and fostering joint research in library science and digital resource management.
This milestone underscores SLSUโs continued efforts to strengthen international partnerships and advance its strategic goal of achieving global relevance and excellence.

Campaign aimed at university students who want to explore contemporary poetry through new voices and styles. It brings together a selection of emerging poets who address themes close to this generation's concerns: identity, emotions, relationships, digital society, and personal exploration.
A proposal that combines freshness, sensitivity, and experimentation, inviting students to discover poetry as an intimate, direct form of expression deeply connected to the present.

March 25, 2026 I The SLSU Bontoc Learning Commons personnel proudly joined the celebration of National Womenโs Month through the GAD activity, โWE: Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.โ
In line with this, SLSU Bontoc presented โReclaiming Babaylan,โ featuring Dr. Aileen D. Alinsub as guest speaker, who shared valuable insights on amplifying womenโs voices, honoring our heritage, and continuing the call for empowerment and inclusivity.
The Learning Commons stands in solidarity in promoting gender equality and recognizing the vital role of women in shaping a more inclusive society.

Highlights from the Activity I Cite Right: Mastering APA Citation and Referencing with Library Databases Orientation
March 25, 2026 I The Learning Commons successfully conducted a workshop aimed at enhancing students' competencies in proper citation and referencing using APA style, as well as the effective use of library's online databases. Participants were guided in applying accurate citation practices and navigating credible scholarly resources to support their research work.
The activity was conducted in two separate sessions and was attended by the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students who are currently enrolled in a research subject.
The Learning Commons also extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Christine A. Makilang, BSIT faculty member for her support and for allowing the conduct of this activity.
