As part of Sigay Festival 2025 and the 435th Founding Anniversary and Town Fiesta Celebration of Binmaley, the Battle of the Brains, held on January 27, 2025, proudly continues its tradition of showcasing intelligence and academic excellence— a competition that has long been part of Binmaley’s history. Now in its third consecutive year in this festival era, it remains a testament to the power of knowledge and the pursuit of learning.

As we commemorate the 126th celebration of Philippine Independence, we also remember the contribution of 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐅. 𝐅𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚, known as the “𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙚 12 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙮.” He fathered the idea of proclaiming June 12 as Independence Day and through RA No. 4166 signed by former President Diosdado D. Macapagal, this important celebration changed the date from July 4 to June 12.
