Baler, Aurora โ Reinforcing its commitment to maintaining peace and order and ensuring public safety, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Aurora convened the Provincial Audit Committee (PAC) on June 2, 2026, at the DILG Aurora Provincial Office for the Provincial Table Validation of the FY 2025 Peace and Order Councilโs (POC) Performance Audit.
The activity gathered representatives from key member agencies, including the Aurora Police Provincial Office (APPO), 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Aurora, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Aurora, Adventist Community Services (ACS), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Aurora and the DILG Aurora POC Secretariat led by Provincial Director Ener P. Cambronero, CESO V.
A significant highlight of the FY 2025 POC Performance Audit was the outstanding performance of Auroraโs eight component Municipal Peace and Order Councils (MPOCs), all of which achieved a "Highly Functional" rating. This accomplishment reflects the municipalities' sustained commitment to institutionalizing effective peace and order mechanisms, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, and implementing responsive programs that address local peace and security concerns.
As a key mechanism for promoting peace and public safety at the local level, the Peace and Order Council (POC) serves as the primary platform for collaboration among local government units (LGUs), law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders. Through this collaborative approach, POCs help address emerging security challenges, prevent conflict, and create an environment conducive to sustainable development.

Maria Aurora | May 26, 2026 โ In line with its commitment to ensure the efficient and transparent implementation of government-funded infrastructure projects, the DILG Aurora Provincial Project Monitoring Team (PPMT), in coordination with the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO) of Maria Aurora, successfully conducted a site inspection of projects funded under FY 2024 and 2025 Local Government Support Fund โ Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP).
Among the projects inspected was the completed farm-to-market road in Barangay Debucao, which is expected to significantly improve transportation access for residents and facilitate the faster movement of agricultural products within the community. The team also visited the health station project in Barangay Baubo, which is now at the start of its implementation stage. The monitoring activity aimed to evaluate the current status of project implementation, verify compliance with the approved program of works and technical specifications, and ensure that timelines and quality standards are being properly observed.
These efforts likewise reinforce accountability and transparency in project implementation while ensuring that communities receive the intended benefits of improved infrastructure and enhanced delivery of basic services. Through sustained monitoring and close coordination with local government units, DILG Aurora continues to uphold its mandate of promoting responsive governance and supporting programs that contribute to the development of local communities across the province.

Baler, Aurora โ DILG Aurora successfully conducted a lecture on Executive Order No. 70 or the Whole-of-Nation Approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC), highlighting the vital role of the youth in nation-building and peace-building efforts.
The activity was conducted on May 20, 2026, during the Aurora Youth Leadership Summit 2026, organized by the Provincial Government of Aurora through the Provincial Youth Development Office, in partnership with the 703rd Agila Brigade, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army, and the 91st Infantry โSinagtalaโ Battalion, Philippine Army.
In line with the theme, โYouth Taking the Lead for Tomorrow,โ the lecture, delivered by LGOO V Denn Jennings Angel M. Oviatt, aimed to deepen the participantsโ understanding of peace, conflict, civic engagement, and social responsibility among the youth sector.
Participants were introduced to the principles and objectives of EO 70, which addresses the root causes of insurgency through inclusive governance, active participation of all sectors, and strengthened delivery of basic services in vulnerable communities.
The discussion emphasized that ending insurgency is not solely a military concern, but a shared responsibility that requires collaboration among government agencies, communities, civil society organizations, and especially the youth. Participants were encouraged to become active contributors to peace-building through volunteerism, civic engagement, participation in government programs, critical thinking, and collaboration with various development sectors.
Interactive activities such as mind mapping and group sharing sessions allowed participants to reflect on the question: โHow can the youth contribute to a peaceful and progressive Philippines?โ
Moreover, the lecture showed the importance of empowering young people as co-creators of sustainable development and advocates of positive social transformation. Participants were encouraged to organize, collaborate, and actively participate in community initiatives and inter-agency platforms that promote peace, inclusivity, and development. The activity also explored concepts of social change, constructive activism, volunteerism, and charity, encouraging the youth to engage in peaceful avenues for nation-building.
Through this initiative, DILG Aurora reaffirms its commitment to strengthening youth participation in governance and promoting a culture of peace, civic responsibility, and active citizenship toward a more progressive and resilient society.
