91ST IB DEALS BLOWS VS CTG REMNANTS

BALER, Aurora — The 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division recorded back-to-back operational breakthroughs that further degraded the remaining elements of dismantled communist terrorist groups (CTGs) along the Aurora–Quezon boundary, a top military official said on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

Lieutenant Colonel Aries A. Quinto, commanding officer of the 91st Infantry Battalion (91IB), said the latest successes reflect the unit’s strengthened security posture and its unwavering commitment to protecting communities while supporting the government’s reintegration program for former rebels.

“These accomplishments were made possible through timely and accurate information from vigilant residents, coupled with the professionalism and dedication of our operating troops,” Quinto said.

Two high-value CTG personalities surrender

On December 8, two high-value personalities (HVPs) identified with the merged remnants of the dismantled Guerrilla Front Narciso (GFN) and Komiteng Rehiyon Gitnang Luzon (KRGL) voluntarily surrendered to the 91IB in Barangay Caragsacan, Dingalan, Aurora.

Military officials said the surrender marked a significant step in further weakening CTG influence and operational capability in the area.

Fi****ms, war materiel seized in Quezon

On the same day, operating elements of the battalion discovered an abandoned enemy encampment in Sitio Bituan, Barangay Umiray, General Nakar, Quezon, believed to have served as a logistics hub of the same CTG remnants.

Recovered items included one M16 rifle (SN 6742230), one bandolier, one .45 caliber magazine, five long M16 magazines, 214 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 14 rounds of .45 caliber ammunition, two bolos, two pairs of rain boots, one flashlight, intravenous fluids, food packs, and subversive documents.

Military officials said the recovery delivered another blow to the weakened supply chain of the dismantled group.

Additional high-powered fi****ms recovered

On December 9, follow-up clearing operations in the same area led to the recovery of two additional high-powered fi****ms and assorted materiel from another abandoned enemy hideout.

Seized items included one M16A1 rifle, one Bushmaster rifle, one upper receiver, and two extra barrels.

JTG 7-2 lauds successive gains

Brigadier General Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV, commander of Joint Task Group 7-2, commended the 91IB for its consistent operational performance, noting that the consecutive gains demonstrated discipline, precision, and proactive engagement on the ground.

He also thanked local residents for providing actionable intelligence that led to the recovery of fi****ms and the surrender of former rebels.

Quinto reiterated that the battalion’s mission goes beyond neutralizing armed threats.

“Our mission transcends combat engagements. We remain fully committed to ensuring community security and giving every possible opportunity to those who seek a peaceful return to society,” he said.

With the surrender of high-value personalities, the seizure of high-powered fi****ms, and the continued disruption of CTG hideouts, the 91st Infantry Battalion further constricted the mobility and operational capability of remaining CTG remnants under Joint Task Group 7-2, advancing the region’s path toward stable and lasting peace.
