We successfully executed the project for the students of Bangkal Resettlement Elementary School in Brgy. Bangkal, Abucay, Bataan last Dec 29, 2018.

The project is a collaborative efforts of TOSP-R3ACH, Project Bangkal and STEMIfy
that composed of three activities, dream building, energy education, and distributions of solar lamps.

Kids from the Mano Amiga Academy in Parañaque city flooded the STEMify booth with excitement as they played and learned with the electronic tool kits.

Meet Christian, Alyssa, Aaron and Ashley of Binuangan Elementary School who enjoyed learning and finishing the lessons of the electronics toolkit.

Most students of the far-flung Binuangan Elementary School in Bagac, Bataan walk several kilometers, cross rivers and climb hill tops to go to school.

It is an overwhelming treasure seeing these kids hold on to their dreams of becoming STEM professionals and to their hope of helping their family and their community in the future.

Urban School Implementation

Thirty five (35) Grade 5 students of Balanga Elementary School received the STEMify toolkit for free. Student were able to bring home the toolkit so they can keep experimenting and for them to share it with other kids.

The STEMify toolkit for kids 🔋⚙️💡

STEMify is a community project supported by the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative of the United States State Department and by The Asia Foundation to primarily address the gaps in STEM education in Southeast Asia. The first run of the project has already been implemented in Bali, Indonesia; and the second run is set for implementation in Balanga City, Bataan.

STEMify creates low-cost, do-it-yourself electronic toolkits for kids aged 8 to 12 years old for teaching them basic electrical circuits and basic electronics. The project hopes that, by introducing to kids the applications of basic electrical circuits and electronics, they will be more interested and will be inspired to take STEM tracks in the future. The project also hopes to assess and to address the gaps between urban communities and rural communities in STEM education by doing workshop sessions in an urban school and in a rural school. The electronic toolkits will be left to the kids after the workshop session for their further learning.
