CRITICAL CASE UPDATE: The Reality of Emergency C-Sections 🐾💔
Yuki was rushed to Dr. ART Vet Clinic for an emergency Cesarean section after being in labor for hours. Her first puppy had tragically been stuck in the vaginal canal/vulva for a prolonged period before arriving at the clinic.
Upon presentation, the Dr. Art team immediately assessed her condition. Due to severe uterine inertia (weakened uterine muscles from exhaustion) and the posibility of larger puppy/s, her body was completely unable to deliver the puppies naturally.
Recognizing the extreme urgency, our Head Veterinarian, Doc Juna, immediately proceeded with the emergency C-section. While our Dr. Art team fought incredibly hard to save the litter, the two puppies sadly did not make it due to the prolonged distress of the labor. Despite the loss, we are deeply grateful that we were able to successfully stabilize and save Yuki!
After close monitoring and standard post-op care, we are happy to share that Yuki was officially discharged yesterday and is continuing her recovery safely at home, surrounded by her loving family. 🩹✨
⚠️ A Reminder to Breeders & Pet Owners:
-Mated pets must be closely matched in size for safe pregnancies and deliveries. The male should not be larger than the female.
-Dystocia (difficult labor) is a true medical emergency where every minute counts. If your pregnant pet has been actively straining for more than 30–45 minutes without producing a pup, or if a puppy is visible but stuck in the birth canal, please do not wait for nature to take its course. Immediate veterinary intervention is what saves lives.
Sending all our love, comfort, and healing energy to brave Yuki! ❤️🩹

LEASH DISASTER!
A canine patient was brought to the clinic due to a foul odor coming from the head area. Initially, no visible wound could be seen because the dog had a thick coat of fur, which concealed the underlying condition. Upon thorough physical examination and after grooming session, it was discovered that the leash had become tightly lodged into the neck, causing a deep laceration with signs of infection and tissue damage. The prolonged unnoticed constriction likely contributed to the severity of the wound.
Due to the extent of the injury and after securing the owner’s consent, the attending veterinarian (Doc Juna and team) proceeded with wound debridement to remove necrotic and infected tissue, followed by proper cleaning, flushing, and surgical closure of the wound. The procedure was successful, and the patient responded well throughout. Necessary medications, including antibiotics and pain management, were also administered to support recovery.
The patient is now under close monitoring, and we are hopeful for a fast, smooth, and complication-free healing process.
This case is a strong reminder to regularly check collars and leashes, especially for growing or long-haired pets, as these can easily become too tight and lead to serious injuries if left unnoticed.
