Good Vibes for all

Uganda became one of the countries with the harshest laws against the LGBT community after the enactment of new legislation signed by President Yoweri Museveni.
The regulation establishes life imprisonment for relationships between people of the same gender and, in “aggravated” cases, it even contemplates the maximum penalty. Although homosexuality was already illegal, the new law significantly toughens the sanctions.
International health organizations warned that fear of reprisals could keep people away from medical services, affecting the fight against HIV. While activists described it as “a dark day”, authorities defended it by invoking cultural values.
A decision that sparked a global debate on human rights.
