Through the visionary initiative of Dr. Teresa Mirafuentes-Reponte, Municipal Health Officer of Bacolod, and with the full support of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Judith Vidal Miquiabas, COMPUTER SET have been distributed to our Barangay Health Stations in Alegria, Babalaya, Kahayag, Mati, Liangan East, Rupagan, Minaulon, & Demologan. Other barangays have already received their computer sets.

These are not just machines, they are lifelines in our day-to-day service. From accurate and faster reporting, efficient patient data management, to timely decision-making, these computers empower our health workers to deliver care that is quicker, smarter, and more responsive to the needs of every family.

Empowering Health in Barangay Esperanza! 🩺✨

We are thrilled to announce the successful launching of our HPN-DM Club (Hypertension & Diabetes Mellitus) held yesterday, April 14, 2026. This initiative marks a major step forward in prioritizing the long-term health and wellness of our residents.

The event featured an insightful lecture by our dedicated Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Teresa M. Reponte, who shared vital information on managing and preventing lifestyle diseases. To further support our members, the hardworking staff from the Rural Health Office were also on-site to facilitate PhilHealth Check services for all participants.

A huge thank you to our Barangay Council, headed by Hon. Captain Rommell Clapano, for their unwavering support and commitment to making this health program a reality.

📍 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐝, 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞 | 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The Helen Keller International- PH, in coordination with Department of Health CHD Northern Mindanao, successfully conducted an orientation on the LNS SQ for its extension sites in the Province of Lanao del Norte last April 13, 2026, at the Bacolod Gymnasium.

The activity brought together participants from LGU Bacolod, LGU SND and LGU Munai, along with representatives from various CHDs including Zamboanga, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Northern Mindanao.

The orientation was led by Ms. Noelle Lyn C. Santos, LNS SQ Focal Person, together with Ms. Patricia Isabel Matienzo from Helen Keller International. Ms. Santos discussed the overview of LNS SQ—its importance, administration, and target beneficiaries—while Ms. Matienzo presented the forms and IEC materials.

A role-playing activity followed, allowing Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) to apply their learnings and demonstrate proper approaches in handling real-life community scenarios. Facilitators provided guidance to ensure effective and appropriate responses.

An open forum was also conducted to address participants’ concerns and clarify issues.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all members of the Barangay Nutrition Committees for their active participation and commitment. We look forward to your continued support as we move forward in the LNS SQ journey.

𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬’ 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 | 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟔–𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Seventeen Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from Bacolod, Lanao del Norte successfully completed their Basic Course Training held on April 6–8, 2026. The training was facilitated by speakers from the National Nutrition Council Region X, led by Mr. Patrick John D. Gonzales, along with PDOHO Lanao del Norte Nutritionist-Dietitians Ms. Mitzilyn B. Brillo, Ms. Alzenjoan J. Icalina, and Ms. Clariz B. Kalyawen, who generously shared their expertise to strengthen the scholars’ understanding of their roles and responsibilities.

The activity was made possible through the support of the Municipal Nutrition Action Office (MNAO) team: Mr. Richard R. Tan, Dr. Catherine Mae B. Miscala, and Ms. Jamila D. Macalangan, with the guidance of Municipal Health Officer Dr. Teresa M. Reponte and the approval of Hon. Judith V. Miquiabas, Local Chief Executive.

The three-day training covered six comprehensive modules, enriched with interactive activities that encouraged active participation and meaningful insights from the scholars.

Thank you to all participants, facilitators, and partners for making this training a success in strengthening our commitment to community nutrition and public health.

RHU Bacolod | Monday Convocation Highlights 🩺

Today, the Rural Health Unit (RHU) Bacolod hosted the weekly Monday Convocation. Our Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Teresa M. Reponte, shared several key milestones and upcoming initiatives:

⭐ Top 1 in Lanao del Norte – Bacolod has been recognized as the Top 1 Implementer of PuroKalusugan (PK) in the entire province. This achievement reflects our commitment to bringing healthcare closer to every home.

📍 Expanding Services – New PuroKalusugan sites will soon be established to further improve health accessibility in our barangays.

💪 Employee Wellness – In coordination with the HRMO, we are preparing a Health and Wellness Activity for all municipal employees. The final date will be announced soon.
