Kaunting Easter reflections muna—

Sa maraming kultura from East to West, lucky charms ang turing sa mga rabbit foot na ginagawa naming keyholders or accessories.

However, nag-iingat kaming ma-misinterpret na naniniwala at nagtitinda ng “luck”.

To us, these are simply rabbit by-products. It holds meaning for every person. It is at the very least a novelty item. To some expats, it reminds them of their childhood possession.

At most, if we are stuck in a rabbit hole of challenges, it is a visual reminder that we can be as nimble as a rabbit in finding solutions. It reminds us that I we can be fertile with ideas, productive with our output.

Moved by my personal beliefs, I decided to Christify these by-products with the words Faith, Hope, and Love.

Maraming nahahatak ang mga rabbit foot papalapit sa bazaar table namin.

When we explain to interested buyers that they can choose between Faith, Hope, and Love, it is amazing because people actually think about their choice.

Guess what they end up picking.

Not faith (dahil kaya sa predominantly Christian country tayo kaya parang built in na yun?)

Not love (dahil kaya sa ayaw umamin na wala pa silang jowa? hehe)

They pick HOPE. They want HOPE. They need HOPE.

Without hope, nothing will feed our faith.

Without hope, there will be no point in love.

And during challenging times, hope sustains our capacity to believe and to love.

Sabi ni San Pedro: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy, has begotten us again to a LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

Easter is about hope. Our Easter Joy is founded on this living hope. The Joy of Easter is the hope that the Risen Lord brings into our lives.

Maligayang Pasko ulit ng muling pagkabuhay Hesus.

Pagpalain po nawa ng Diyos ang ating bagong taon ng kanyang pag-ibig. Maging maalwan sana ang ating buhay sa awa ng Diyos.

Hangad namin maranasan nating lahat ang ligaya ng Pasko, hindi lamang ang sandaling saya ng materyal na bagay kundi ang ligaya ng payapang isip at pusong hatid ng pagsilang ni Hesus.
