$2 Billion “Silicon Valley” for new graduates, soon to rise in Pampanga

The biggest global technological innovation hub in the Philippines will soon rise in a 200 hectare-site in Angeles City and Mexico, Pampanga. It will be the new home of more than 100 global tech companies. According to Dennis Uy, this billion-dollar venture is meant to provide an ecosystem for new graduates to pursue a career in information technology and related industries as well as bring more economic activity to the place he calls home.

The Silicon Valley project is Uy’s way of giving back to Pampanga, more particularly Angeles, the city that nurtured him as a boy and as a struggling businessman.

“The Philippines has so many talented people. If you go to Silicon Valley, you will see a lot of Filipinos there. They are really good in terms of technology,” he said, noting that the Philippines still has to develop an ecosystem that will offer opportunities to digitally skilled Filipinos.

Monopole tower could be the solution in areas where rent is expensive and space is limited like in highly urbanized city or mass housing communities. The main disadvantage of monopole is their limited coverage compared to other towers.
