𝐒𝐎𝐂 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧'𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐊𝐔𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

June 5, 2026 – The School of Computing (SOC) Dean's Office successfully conducted its regular KUMUSTAHAN meeting with the college's student leaders and recognized student organizations. The gathering served as an important venue for dialogue, collaboration, and strategic planning between the administration and the student body.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the introduction of the School of Computing's new administrative team. The Dean formally presented the college's academic leaders to the student representatives, reinforcing the administration's commitment to accessible and collaborative leadership. The newly introduced administrators were:
Dr. Jeanky Mendez – Associate Dean, School of Computing
Dr. Everly Chua – Chairperson, Cybersecurity
Mr. Chris Almocera – Information Technology Program Coordinator
Mr. Timothy James Camiling – Chairperson, Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (EMC)

Following the introduction of the administrative team, the SOC College Student Council (SOC-CSC) presented its proposed programs, projects, and activities for Academic Year 2026–2027. The council outlined initiatives focused on student development, academic excellence, leadership engagement, and community building within the School of Computing.

The college's student organizations also presented their respective plans and organizational roadmaps for the upcoming academic year. Among the organizations that shared their initiatives were:
1. MAFIA (Multimedia Afficionados for Interested Artists), representing students of Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (EMC);
2. CSIA (Cybersecurity Intelligence Alliance), representing Cybersecurity and Networking students;
3. The Access Point, the official newsletter publication of the School of Computing;
4. LOOP (League of Outstanding Programmers), whose revival was formally introduced to provide additional opportunities and engagement for Computer Science students; and
5. Code Geeks, a student organization dedicated to fostering innovation, programming skills, and professional growth among Web Development students.

Each organization presented plans designed to strengthen student involvement, enhance academic and professional development, and promote collaboration among the different programs within the college. Faculty advisers likewise expressed their support for the organizations' initiatives and reaffirmed their commitment to mentoring student leaders throughout the academic year.

The regular KUMUSTAHAN meeting highlights the School of Computing's commitment to maintaining open communication between the administration and student leaders. By providing a platform for dialogue, the meeting enables students to share ideas, discuss concerns, and align their initiatives with the college's goals and vision.

Furthermore, the gathering strengthens the partnership between the Dean's Office and student organizations, ensuring that student-led programs remain relevant, impactful, and responsive to the needs of the SOC community. Through active collaboration and engagement, the School of Computing continues to foster a culture of leadership, inclusivity, and shared responsibility among its students and administrators.

As the new academic year approaches, the School of Computing looks forward to the successful implementation of these initiatives and the continued cooperation among its administrative team, student council, and student organizations in advancing the interests and development of the entire SOC community
