Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program

TKCP is the umbrella name for the partnership between Woodland Park Zoo's Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program in Seattle, Washington, USA and Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program-PNG, a non-profit organization based in Papua New Guinea. TKCP is made up of a dedicated team of Papua New Guineans, including customary landowners and YUS Conservation Area Rangers, working together with international colleagues to sustainably manage the YUS Landscape. The YUS Conservation Area, named for the Yopno-Uruwa-Som rivers, is the first and only protected area of its type in PNG – providing protection at the landscape scale, wholly owned by local people, and with the support of the PNG Government for long-term protection.
