The island of Taquile, located in Lake Titicaca, is a testament to the beauty of community–perfect for the quintessential family vacation! But it’s not just their strong sense of community that is the attraction; their weaving tradition is recognised by UNESCO as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage. The textile art brings Peruvian culture to life, with the men specializing in clothing like vests, sweaters and chullos, while the women of the community weave pieces such as girdles (chumpis), colorful blankets (llicllas) and small bags (chuspas).
A chance for the entire family to learn and indulge in true Peruvian tradition!

Paracas is the kind of place that makes kids ask, ‘How can this all be in one spot?’ One morning you’re on a boat spotting sea lions and birds; that afternoon you’re standing on desert cliffs looking down at waves crashing into the coast. It’s easy to reach, easy to navigate, and full of ‘wow’ moments that don’t require long hikes. Add it between Lima and the south, and you’ve got a family day everyone will brag about.

What are the kids going to enjoy the most?

Gocta is one of those places where the journey really does shape the memory. You can choose a shorter in‑and‑out path that gets you to the base with a solid half‑day of hiking, or commit to a longer circuit with extra viewpoints and more time inside the cloud forest. Either way, you finish in front of a towering waterfall, soaked in mist and slightly in awe of how far your legs carried you. If you were planning this day, which version would you pick - short and sweet, or long and all‑in?
