It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us, but we’re happy to share some good news: Mandor is open again! 🌿

We closed our doors for a while to give the Mandor family some time to rest and work on our beautiful land to bring the best out of it. It took longer than we expected, as a flash flood reshaped some of our precious land. Luckily, we are all well and truly excited for this new season. 🐝

Our coffee kiosk, hotel and trekking routes are ready to make your Machu Picchu experience even more special. Come enjoy a coffee while watching hummingbirds next to the river. ☕️

As you probably know, the rains and floods at the beginning of this year were very strong here, destroying much of what we had built over the past twenty years. However, this is also our home, so we’re rebuilding everything, and we need your support for that.

🌱 Mandor is a family-run initiative dedicated to the restoration and conservation of wild habitats while promoting eco-tourism near Machu Picchu, Peru.

For the past 26 years, we have been actively reforesting the area with thousands of native trees and shrubs. Our botanical garden features a diverse range of plant species and includes trails through the cloud forest, where visitors can encounter wildlife in its natural habitat and enjoy stunning mountain views and pristine waterfalls.

Hola! Esperamos se encuentren bien :)
El equipo de Mandor les agradece por el gran apoyo que nos vienen ofreciendo. Ha pasado 1 mes y hemos logrado algunas cosas importantes, pudimos construir una captación de agua provisional y también se logró conectar el desagüe para al menos tener agua para cocinar :) aún no es bastante bueno pero seguiremos mejorando.
También se implementaron algunos paneles solares, estos sirven para alimentar una antena para comunicarnos, esperamos que puedan darnos energía suficiente para refrigerar los alimentos.
Antes de terminar marzo pensamos abrir nuestro kiosko para ventas al paso y empezar a generar algunos ingresos.
Los trabajos son muy lentos todavía pues aún necesitamos de maquinaria pesada para limpiar el material aluvionico. El encauzamiento del río seguirá siendo un sueño mientras no haya un compromiso por parte de los que tienen la maquinaria.
Próximamente construiremos un nuevo puente para el río Mandor y así empezar a reconstruir el camino hacia la catarata. Aún tenemos que construir una nueva captación de agua en el manantial para energía y agua de calidad, eso llevará tiempo y esperamos que sea una solución definitiva. Para reforestar voy a constituir una ONG (ngo) para poder recibir fondos para conservación de biodiversidad, reforestación y tal vez así pueda contar con suficientes recursos para el encauzamiento.
