The name “Hatun Tambo” comes from Quechua, the ancient language of the Inca people, and means large guesthouse.

In the Incan Empire, the “tambos” were strategically-placed on the most important roads. They were not just sources of shelter, but sites where visitors could learn about the different regions of the empire.

In Hatun Tambo we want to be provide accommodation that not only provides shelter, but offers people a guide to our culture, giving them a better experience in Peru.
