Machu Picchu entrances have changed since the pandemic and are now limited to a specific entrance window (1 hr) and a specific route through the site (1 - 4) which is marked on a map. Plan accordingly and please try to book your Machu Picchu bus tickets ahead of time.

"Wayna Picchu" sells out fast and should be booked 3 - 5 months in advance.

"Montana" is always available and may be the only solution when regular tickets are sold out.

https://machupicchu.gob.pe/ is the official site for purchasing entrance tickets. Sometimes the site won't accept foreign credit cards which is when we can step in and help.

Here are the current entrance fees for 2023:
General (Circuits 1,2,3 and 4): S/152 Soles
Montana Machu Picchu (Circuit 3): S/200 Soles
Monatana Huchuy Picchu (Circuit 4): S/152 Soles
Wayna Picchu (Circuit 4): S/200 Soles
Puente Inka (Circuit 1 or 2): S/152 Soles

If you'd rather not deal with any of it contact us. We can take care of your entrances, bus and train tickets and transfers to Cusco as well as accommodation in Aguas Calientes.

Hoatzin "Shansho" (Opisthocomus hoazin)
- These prehistoric birds are the only member of the genus Opisthocomus
- They are found all over the Manu area favoring small lakes, and are always fighting at lake Machuhuasi. I have feathers to prove it.

Horned Screamers (Anhima cornuta) - These guys are always there at lake Machuhuasi, sometimes up in the treetops. They have a call which sounds like a bike horn and call out in bursts as a group.
