Working with the natural fibres of the Peruvian Andes is central to HJK’s ethos. Our company is rooted in a region whose history and culture have long been shaped by animal fibres such as alpaca.

Peru is a true paradise for natural fibres, and all of our pieces are made using the exceptional natural fibres for which this region is known: alpaca, highland wool, and Pima cotton. We source all our yarns within Peru, partnering with suppliers who are also deeply committed to environmental stewardship and positive socio-economic impact.

We always prioritise traceable and certified materials recognized worldwide, including the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS), OEKO-TEX®️ Standard 100, and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

We love the natural shades of animal fibres—and we also love colour. That’s why all the materials used in our collections are dyed with safe, non-toxic dyes certified under the OEKO-TEX®️ Standard 100. This globally recognized certification ensures that dyes are tested for harmful substances and meet strict standards for both human and environmental safety.
Leaving Nothing Behind

Every HJK garment is guaranteed to be 100% biodegradable, made entirely from natural, renewable animal or plant fibres. Each garment can return safely to the soil, breaking down within months and nourishing the soil as they do.

Textile art installation for and their wonderful restaurant ✨

I have always been inspired by the process of making, I didn’t plan this out, but just got into the space with the materials and color palette we had discussed and used techniques of looping, crochet, weaving and binding, following each moment into the unknown of the creative process 🙌🏽

We used up materials from other leftover projects transforming and reforming them into something new. Aligning with our zero waste policy and never throwing anything away! Even the little threads you think you cannot do anything with. There is always potential. 🤍

This hotel has a special place in my heart and life here in Cusco, it is pretty much my second home where everyone is always welcomed here for good food, wine, company and yoga. Thank you for inviting me to create something in this special place 🥰

If you are in Cusco, go check out ReFormation in the bar. ❤️

And message me for orders or commissions. I would love to step into your space and create something for you 🫶🏼

Happy EARTH DAY!! 🌎

As the world we live in hurtles into the future, it has never felt so important, and special, to honor natural materials and things that are made by human hands. ✨

There are some things that technology and machinery will just never be able to recreate in the way that human beings and the natural world can. And we are here to fully celebrate that. 🙌🏽

THANK YOU PACHAMAMA, THANK YOU MOTHER EARTH. 💚

!!KNITTING PATTERN WRITER REQUIRED!!

We are searching for an experienced knitting patter writing to turn our much loved designs into patterns in both graphs and written forms, circular and panel knitting, preferably in both English and Spanish. 🙌🏽

We get asked for patterns all the time! And as it has been on my list to do for about 4 years I figure we need some help in making this part of our business a reality. ✨

Please send work examples and rates to [email protected]

Many thanks!
