Runa Simi
We desire that each Quechua dialect and each jungle language group be able to understand God´s Word and be able to worship God in Spirit and in Truth.

A workshop was held in Rocchacc, a village in the province of Chincheros, Apurímac, located within the VRAEM area and approximately 3.5 hours from Andahuaylas, to equip Sunday school teachers with tools to strengthen their ministry.
The training brought together 22 church leaders from nearby communities, including Rocchacc, Piscobamba, Ocobamba, Onqoy, and Chacabamba.
Participants received both physical and digital resources, and these young leaders will also have the opportunity to join us for the youth conference in Pacucha, Andahuaylas, later this year.

Recently, a Level 1 Literacy Workshop was held in the community of Rocchacc, a Quechua community deeply rooted in Andean traditions, community work, and a way of life connected to the land.
The community primarily speaks Quechua and has a population of around 3,480 inhabitants. Most families make their living through agriculture and farming, caring for the land that has sustained their communities for generations.
Through our Bible-based literacy program, women and families are gaining new opportunities to read, learn, and grow while strengthening their Quechua language, culture, and faith. 📖💛

We had the opportunity to serve alongside a church in the community of Tupicocha during their 11th church anniversary celebration. Our team supported the children’s and youth ministries, sharing with young people about challenges and issues that affect them at their age and encouraging them in their faith.
It was a special time of fellowship as we shared food together, celebrated with the church family, and they ended with a baptism. We are grateful for the opportunity to support and encourage this growing congregation.
During a recent Bible study, Hilda Huamán, a Quechua woman in the Runa Simi literacy program, shared how, for the first time, she was able to truly understand God’s Word because it was taught in her Quechua heart language. 📖🤍
Many women had never fully understood biblical teaching because it was often taught only in Spanish, and they did not have access to Bibles in Quechua. As they learn to read, each woman receives a Bible in her own language—and with it, a growing hunger to know more of God’s Word. 🙌

Recent study in Choccepuquio. The village of Choccepuquio is a Quechua farming community located in the district of Ocobamba, in the province of Chincheros, in the Apurímac region of Peru.
Literacy is especially important for Quechua women because it provides greater access to education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and the ability to advocate for their families and communities. It also helps preserve and strengthen the Quechua language and cultural identity for future generations. Many Quechua-speaking women in rural Peru have historically faced barriers to education, making literacy programs a powerful tool for empowerment and meaningful participation in society.

Had a great time working with the children of Tupicocha. They enjoyed activities like games, music, puppets, Bible storytelling, and testimony presentations. We were also able to share the gospel with them and give out bracelets from ministry, along with warm hats and clothing for the little ones.

Three SETE (Seminary by Extension) courses were held in the regions of Huamanga and Huanta in Ayacucho, as well as in Chosica, Lima. The focus of these courses was the Gospel of John.
Participants gained a clearer understanding of the message of the Gospel, including the book’s historical context, central themes, and purpose. They also deepened their understanding of who Jesus is and the significance of His teachings.

On April 8th, we went to a school in Chaclacayo to minister to the children through our puppet ministry. We were able to perform a puppet show, tell stories, and share the gospel with them. We’re so thankful to the team for coming alongside our team and spending time with the kids.

Participants received a Bible in Quechua in the recent workshop in the village of Chuschi (Cangallo, Ayacucho). Despite hardships, the community remains faithful. 📖

We are incredibly thankful to Rich, Elisa, and the Inca Link and Roots team for investing time in our youth. From doing CrossFit and volleyball to sharing an impactful talk on the benefits and dangers of social media, their presence meant so much. We’re truly grateful for their continued partnership and support.
