Intermediary Service Provider

This technology has been developed and is being used to transmit signals from a protected premises to a supervising station. This technology serves as a gateway between a protected premises and the supervising station that intercepts signals and allows signals to be sent to other entities in addition to the supervising station, such as facility managers or building owners for business purposes. An example of this arrangement can be seen in the diagram below. The new requirements are proposed for Chapter 26 NFPA 72 to ensure that these signals are processed in a reliable and supervised manner and do not bypass the supervising station.
