Opening of Oman Real Estate Exhibition and Conference.

Yesterday marked the opening of OREX (Oman Real Estate Expo) to the public, followed by today’s opening of Oman Design & Build Expo, held in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. Together, these events highlight Oman’s continued focus on investment, innovation and sustainable growth across the built environment sector.

Running concurrently until 13 May at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, Oman Design & Build Week brings together government entities, investors, developers, architects, consultants, contractors and industry solution providers on one powerful platform.

With more than 160 exhibitors and over 34,000 forecast visits, the event reflects the growing momentum shaping the future of Oman’s construction and real estate landscape.

☕ This month on Coffee with the MD, we’re featuring Satyam Chopra, Senior Event Director – OPES.

As part of our CSR initiatives, Coffee with the MD creates an opportunity for employees to enjoy a casual conversation over coffee with our Managing Director, sharing their journeys, experiences, and insights.

Satyam joined CONNECT over 10 years ago as a Sales Manager and has since grown into his current role as Senior Event Director through dedication, consistency, and strong leadership.

Known for his strong client relationships and impressive sales expertise, Satyam has played an important role in the continued growth of OPES over the years.

Today’s “Coffee with the MD” featured Mughis Juned, Customer Experience (CX) & Operations Director and a valued member of CONNECT’s senior leadership team.

Throughout Mughis's journey at CONNECT, He has demonstrated strong growth as a leader. Through practical experience, mentorship, and ongoing learning opportunities such as Ops Nest, he has expanded his strategic thinking and continues to make a meaningful impact across the business.

One of the most notable developments has been the strengthening of our CX function. Together with his team, he has helped shape a structured exhibitor and sponsor journey, supported by initiatives such as ROI-focused tools, tailored engagement content, and Exhibitor Success Workshops. These efforts are centred on enhancing value, building lasting partnerships, and supporting better event outcomes.

We look forward to seeing what more Mughis Juned will bring to the CONNECT table as we continue to grow and evolve together.

As part of CONNECT’s ongoing ‘Coffee with the MD’ initiative, Our Managing Director, Ashley Roberts recently sat down with our Marketing Director, Georgina Barrett.

Launched as a series to connect with employees across the business, the initiative creates space for open conversations, shared experiences, and a deeper understanding of the people behind CONNECT.

Having joined at the beginning of March, Georgina brings over a decade of director-level experience and 14 years in the Middle East. Her background includes building high-performing marketing and internal communications functions, as well as leading global strategy and marketing teams at Arena Group and Informa in the UAE, and Ocean Media Group in the UK.

Her appointment marks a strong step forward for CONNECT. As head of the marketing function, Georgina will work closely with teams across the business to further strengthen and evolve our marketing strategy and ex*****on.

We are excited to have Georgina on board and look forward to the value she will bring to our team and culture.
