Have you noticed the Ball Clock at the Town Basin is currently closed? ⏰

Our team is hard at work carrying out essential maintenance and repairs to ensure it continues to operate safely and reliably for everyone to enjoy.

Last week a customer of ours was heading to Fiji, when disaster struck. They returned to NZ and contacted us to do urgent repairs.
They have left a lovely Google Review.

“Is it possible to give 6 stars? The service is very professional and particularly competent. The team is lovely and helpful, which is a nice bonus.” - Thien An

We have the guys back on the clock for scheduled maintenance. It’ll be back up in running in a couple of weeks.
The team ( Adam and Lloyd) are happy to be back together, Lloyd has come out of retirement for this job.

Time-out for maintenance: the rolling ball clock is temporarily off-the-clock for a tune up. We expect it will take about 2 weeks for a small team from Absolute Stainless to make several repairs and get it running tickety-boo.

It should be ticking along again in mid June 2026.

Claphams National Clock Museum remains open as does the nearby playground and the rest of the Hātea Loop.

Your stainless steel might not survive winter as you think…

In Northland’s coastal conditions, stainless steel can develop:
❌ Tea staining
❌ Mould build-up
❌ Lichen

Here’s how to stay ahead 👇
✔ Warm water + mild detergent
❌ Avoid bleach or harsh cleaners
✔ Use a soft cloth or sponge
✔ Wipe with the grain
✔ Rinse and dry properly
✔ Clean more often in exposed areas
