20 years ago today, we bought Manawatu Toyota - we started with 35 in our team and 20 years on, we have the pleasure of working with an awesome team of 63 in Palmerston North alone! We have grown from 1 store to 5 in the last 20 years, covering the Manawatu, Horowhenua, Wairarapa and Whanganui areas.

When we are asked the question of how we got here, it is very simple. There are 3 answers to this – we are here because of a love of the motor industry and running a family business, we are here because of the incredible team we work with every day, and we are here because of our loyal, customers who we always enjoy seeing ✨

South Wairarapa Vets take action on climate change, and we were delighted to join them in their efforts.

Last Friday, South Wairarapa Vets extended an invitation to TRC Masterton to assist in planting an impressive number of trees – over 1,000, to be precise!

We were proud to support SW Vets. Serin Edwards, our TRC Masterton Store Manager, and Krystal Dorizac, our Service Advisor, eagerly donned their boots and immersed themselves in the planting process.

The planting site falls within the Ahiaruhe Eco Area Catchment Group, situated on Ahiaruhe Road. This dedicated group has garnered recognition for their proactive efforts in fostering a positive environmental impact. Already, the Ruamahunga area shows signs of improved health, and with the addition of these trees, their future is secured for generations to come.

We were proud to be part of the day, it was a lot of fun with a lot of people all pitching in to help and make a difference. We really appreciated being invited by Jane and the South Wairarapa Veterinary Services team, the premier Animal Health Team in the Wairarapa.

We are nearly at mid-year with June just around the corner. The season is changing, and we also have some exciting changes happening here.

As of 1st June, I will be exiting my role as CEO of Manawatu & TRC Toyota. I have been in this role since the day we bought Manawatu Toyota on July 1st, almost 20 years ago.

I have loved every minute of the past 20 years, and yes, some days have been challenging, but with an awesome team behind us, we always get through it. With customers like yourselves, we have been extremely lucky and really appreciate your support. I will still be working in the business in a GM role going forward.

Our new CEO, Fraser Hart, will take over the reins on June 1st. He is someone who has been in the business for the past 20+ years.

Fraser will do a fantastic job running the business going forward. He brings a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm, fresh thoughts, along with an immense understanding of our business. He is also a shareholder of Manawatu and TRC Toyota.

Fraser started in sales, working his way into a group sales role and then a Group GM role. Over the past year has been in a COO role working alongside myself getting ready for the transition.

I am really excited about the future of our business with Fraser’s leadership and expertise

We had a very special morning tea at our Palmy branch this morning to celebrate Brendon Lester's 30 years (!) at Manawatu Toyota 🎉

Brendon was delivered to our Parts department's door 30 years ago on the 11th April 1994 in a cardboard box in the back of a Hiace van and, luckily, we decided to keep him 😂

A legendary member of our Parts team, Brendon is always the first to be involved in any fundraising activities, creative dress-ups, and (of course) workplace pranks.

Last Thursday was the 15th annual Michael Higgins memorial Golf Day, hosted by Arohanui Hospice, and played at the Manawatu Golf Club. The day was sensational, the sun was out in full, and the course was looking stunning.
The day was all about supporting the Arohanui Hospice. Kellie and her team organised a pretty special day with great hospitality throughout the day and night and a fun auction and prize giving to end the night.
Big thanks to Arohanui Hospice for another very successful fund -raising golf day - thanks to Clare, Simon, Steph, Michelle, Abby, Kellie & all the rest of the team.
Our team which was made up of our team caption Mike McRedmond, along with Emma Simpson, Fraser Hart & Brendon Hart, all had an awesome day, and to cap if off won a prize in the prizegiving - very proud of the team.
