Lifejackets save lives
It’s that simple make sure you always wear one (having it in the boat is no good) whenever your out on the water
Over the past 25 years in New Zealand, 441 people have drowned in craft-related incidents. 336 of them weren’t wearing a lifejacket.
New Zealand's lifejacket legislation is currently under review. This is the biggest drowning prevention opportunity in a generation.
In its original form the proposed Life Jackets for Children and Young Persons Bill focused only on people under the age of 15.
Following strong submissions from water safety experts, including Water Safety New Zealand and Coastguard, Parliament’s Transport and Infrastructure Committee has called for a new phase of public submissions, broadening the scope to all ages.
We believe New Zealand needs a single, national rule. To be clear, life jackets must be worn - by everyone, of all ages when on all recreational boat/craft.
One clear consistent rule will save lives.
Make your voice heard on national legislation for lifejackets by Wednesday 15 April 2026.

Water safety doesn’t start at the pool. It starts at home.
SplashSave is a comprehensive water safety and swim skill development program designed to empower parents/guardians to help keep children safe around water. It equips adults with the knowledge and tools to actively engage in their child’s aquatic education.

Most parents don’t realise how early water safety really starts.
It’s not about strokes or laps.
It’s about confidence. Awareness. Habits.
And moments like these 💙
From the very first splash, children are learning how to feel around water and parents are learning how to guide them safely.
At SplashSave, we exist to make that journey simple, calm and parent-led, so families can grow water confidence together, year by year, in real life not rushed lessons. Thanks to our multiple nationwide partnership such as Lotto NZ/Sport New Zealand/Water Safety New Zealand more parents are finding how to teach their own children basic water skills
🌍 Here’s what makes this even more powerful:
SplashSave is a social enterprise.

Together, we’re building a world where water confidence is a right not a privilege 🌊
💜💜💜
Teaching your own child to be water safe can be one of the most fun (and meaningful) things you’ll ever do as a parent.
Laughing together in the pool.
Celebrating small wins.
Building confidence for them and you.
At SplashSave, we believe every parent can do this. You don’t need to be a swim teacher. You just need the right guidance, time together, and a safe, simple approach that grows with your child.
That’s why we’ve created a complete, parent-led water safety journey from first bath time through to pools, beaches, rivers and boats. The program has been designed to be used gently over several years, at you and your child’s pace 💙
But here’s the part we’re most proud of 🌍
SplashSave is a social enterprise. That means learning at home can help families everywhere.
✨ For every 10 new followers on this page, we gift a full water safety programme to a family who needs it most.
No competitions. No gimmicks. Just community helping community.
If you’d like to explore the programme for your own family, we’ve shared more details in our Etsy store (digital download, no pressure, just information):
