A huge congratulations to the Masterlink apprentices who have been recognised for their hard mahi at the 2026 Young Plumber of the Year branch competitions.

Apache Davidson, from BOP Plumbing & Gas Ltd , took out the Young Plumber category at the Rotorua branch event, while Glynn Norman earned an impressive 2nd place.

Luke Tetley Jones, from Exceed Plumbing and Gas in Tauranga, won the Nexa Apprentice category and Noah Attwood from Waterwise Waihi, who has been with Masterlink for just 10 months, stepped up and enjoyed his first experience competing.

With more branch competitions still to come, we look forward to seeing even more Masterlink talent in action. 👏

Taking on an apprentice doesn’t have to mean taking on all the admin.

For Stu McIvor from McIvor Plumbers & Gasfitters, Masterlink helps make the process simple, supporting both the host business and the apprentice throughout their training.

If you’re thinking about growing your team, hosting a Masterlink apprentice is a great place to start.

These are the kinds of apprentices host companies love having on the team 👏

Cameron renewed his PGDB license on time, got himself into the Masterlink prize draw and walked away with a $50 Prezzy Card!

Plus, our newest apprentice, Seth, completed his Masterlink Health & Safety modules before even starting with his host company and has already received his new Makita battery drill ready before his first day on Monday.

Organised, motivated and ready to get stuck in — exactly the kind of attitude that goes a long way in the trades.

Ka rawe, guys! 👏

Are you a woman interested in a career in the trades?

Hear from Georgia Simeon, a now-qualified Masterlink apprentice working at Karl Boniface Plumbing

Her advice?

“If you’re willing to work hard and learn, you’ll be fine. Back yourself and give it a go!”

Get hands on!

The trades aren’t about sitting still. You learn by getting in there, watching others, giving it a go, and figuring things out as you go.

Ask any Masterlink apprentice why they like it and you’ll hear the same thing. It’s hands on, it keeps you on your toes, and it feels good to do practical work that makes a difference. Plus being able to point at something and say “I worked on that” never gets old.

Earn while you train and build skills you’ll keep for life.
