Making Everything Achievable

Earlier in the month Manaaki Rangatahi and Mā Te Huruhuru launched the More than a Home report to the public.

Yesterday Te Paati Māori MP Oriini Kaipara mō Tāmaki Makaurau has submitted the submitted a Youth Homelessness Prevention’ Bill. If successful, the Bill will enact a Duty to Assist for certain government agencies, establish an Authority for Rangatahi, ensure adequate funding, and most importantly - it prioritises reporting mechanisms to ensure accurate data so that no rangatahi is ever homeless again.

This is an extraordinary outcome for our rangatahi/taitamariki who are in or experiencing homelessness.

They are asking for safety, security and a warm bed to place their head.

Earlier in the year our team supported the efforts of Mā Te Huruhuru and Manaaki Rangatahi to develop the More than a Home Report.

Thanks to the advocacy of Hon Marama Davidson both of these organisations are now launching the report right in the heart of Parliament.

Considering the housing challenges many whānau are facing and that youth on the street are getting younger and younger.

After four incredible years with the MEA whānau, we’re saying farewell to our amazing kaimahi, Terima Walker. From helping us tell stories that matter to amplifying kaupapa that uplift communities, her creativity and heart have left a lasting impact on our team and mahi.

As she moves on to new adventures, we celebrate all she’s contributed: the dedication, aroha, and authenticity she brought to every post, campaign, and project.

We thank her whānau and the Digital Doers kaupapa that helped us find the incredible talent that is Terima.

Over 3,800 Indigenous peoples from around the world sharing knowledge and expertise on the transmission of knowledge.
