I usually decline including pets in my commissions, but every now and then I make an exception. Like I mentioned many times before, including pets is really hard, because of scale of the house versus pet in one drawing. Most of the times the pets would have to be minuscule to be look realistic and drawing a cat a size of 4mm is just difficult 😅 anyway, here’s a rare example of 2 cats, a dog and a classic car 😂

This drawing was a personal project. It was a Christmas gift for my partner’s parents, who kindly and generously hosted us while we were in England last year. We had a wonderful time, and it was so lovely to have a connection with the place that I was drawing.

Here is another classic car for you! Who can tell the model? 😎

A sweet little house portrait I made while I was away last year. This is such a quintessential Wellington house, on a steep street, with white picket fence 🧡📫

We had the best time pet sitting these two gorgeous girls, Sophie (16yo) and Poppy (4yo) back in October 2025. They would snuggle up in their bed together, with all of their toys. Such a sweet pair 😍

Feels like I shouldn’t put off sharing my work any longer 😉 Christmas has come and gone, no surprises to spoil now, and I almost don’t know where to start… perhaps with this lush, thatched-roof beauty?

A detail of my latest drawing. I’m fairly close to completing it, but my hand is going numb, so I take that as a sign to finish tomorrow ✍️🫣🪧

This was a popular illustration!
Many of you either know this restaurant or have enjoyed the level of detail in the drawing.

It’s a reminder that a place doesn’t have to be a home to be worth capturing on paper; sometimes it’s the memories it holds that make it special.

Sharing an older commission today. This home had a long, low silhouette that asked for a different kind of attention.

When a building stretches across the page like this, the challenge is to capture its balance, its small shifts in rhythm, and the sense of space around it.

Every home has its own personality, and part of the work is honouring that shape and story, no matter how simple or unusual it may seem.

If you’re thinking about a house portrait as a Christmas gift, I still have a few commission spots open.
A meaningful, personal present for someone who treasures a place.

Three homes, three stories, all commissioned by one wonderful customer over the years. There’s no bigger compliment than someone returning for more, or trusting me to create something special for the people in their life.

House portraits don’t need grand architecture to matter. They’re about the places where memories settled in, where life happened, and where people felt at home.

With Christmas coming up, I’m opening a limited number of commission spots. If you’d like to gift something personal and meaningful this year, now is the moment to book.

A recent commission of a classic Kiwi villa, restored with so much care by my client Kelly. I loved drawing every detail, from the weatherboards to the warm character woven back into this home.
