This weekend at the Queensland Model & Hobbies Expo in Ipswich, Australia, Drake Collectibles will be releasing 2 new models; one on Saturday & one on Sunday. The Saturday model is a general release & will available at Model Barn in due course. The Sunday release is not a general release & will only be available via the Drake Shop Website, however Drake Collectibles will provide Model Barn (& one other NZ retailer) with a very limited number of this models for New Zealand customers. Drake items are well supported here in NZ & this will ensure NZ Drake collectors have access to these.
Please note: we dont know what these releases are & will take pre-orders only after they are announced, NZ customers only. Australia collectors, please deal direct with Drake Collectibles.

Some big news at Model Barn, after 5 years at the helm, Brandon is leaving to start his dairy farming career. Brandon has dabbled in farming some years ago & is keen to get outdoors with gumboots on again so he knows what he's in for. He is especially looking forward to 4am starts. Brandon's last day is August 13 & we will have cake so if you're cruising by, call in & wish him well. He will also be on duty this Saturday August 8. Brandon has been a integral part of Model Barn during the last 5 years & he will sure be missed by staff, customers & suppliers alike. We wish him all the best. We may even see him at Fieldays again as a farmer!!

Weiss Brothers have recently announced a new colossal P&H 4800XPC Electric Mining Shovel. Even in 1/50 scale this thing is huge at 640mm long, 450mm high & weighing in at 16 kilos (the real machine weighs in at 1.45 million kilos). Model Barn is taking orders for these now & they are due at the end of 2026. Price will be $3750 NZD. Get it touch if your interested & of course we will need a deposit, Balance on delivery.

Just traded at Model Barn, a 1/16 John Deere 55 Combine Harvester. Made by Ertl in 2005 & weighing in at 4.5 kilos, this is a great showpiece. The model is in excellent condition but the box is faded & tatty. Price is $299.50 + postage so sing out if you're interested. It will be listed on the website in the next few days.
