✅ 16oz Gloves

We’re also working towards having everyone equipped with:
✔️ Shin Guards
✔️ Groin Guard

If you don’t have shin guards or a groin guard yet, you’re still welcome to attend. We’ll continue encouraging members to gradually build their sparring gear so we can keep training safe and enjoyable for everyone.

COACH PROFILE | DALTON NEWBY 🥋

When you train BJJ at Unified MMA, you know you’re learning from one of the best.

Dalton has been in the game for 20 years. He’s a 2nd Degree Black Belt and has held his black belt for 7.5 years.

🥋What got you started in BJJ?🥋
Growing up in West Auckland, learning some form of fighting was just part of life. I started BJJ for that reason, but quickly discovered I loved it far more than I ever expected.

🥋What does BJJ mean to you?🥋
It’s been a huge part of my life and helped me overcome plenty of my own internal hurdles along the way.

🥋Who inspires you?🥋
I appreciate anyone who gives to the art and helps it grow.

🥋What’s your favourite part of coaching?🥋
Watching people grow. Whether it’s kids building confidence or adults developing new skills, seeing that progress is incredibly rewarding.

We’re proud to have Dalton leading our Jiu Jitsu programme and helping students of all ages develop both on and off the mats.

📣 Introducing Sandy 📣

We’re excited to announce that Sandy Heilig is joining the Unified MMA team as our new Kids and Adults Kickboxing Coach.

▪️32 years in Muay Thai and combat sports
▪️Nearly 40 fights from 1999-2006
▪️22 years of coaching experience

Sandy brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to our programme. Having trained under world-class coaches in Australia and Thailand, and worked with everyone from beginners and children through to professional fighters, Sandy is committed to helping every student develop their skills and confidence.

Her coaching philosophy:

▪️Fundamentals before fighting
▪️Development before ego
▪️Authentic Muay Thai Kickboxing instruction
▪️A positive and inclusive training environment

Sandy’s experience as a fighter, coach, referee, judge, official, promoter, and New Zealand Black Gloves National Team Coach makes her an incredible addition to our team.

We’re looking forward to our members learning from her and helping take our kickboxing programme to the next level.
