This Friday, Ben from Gambit Brewing Co and I are at The Good Drop in Rangiora to tap our unapologetic West Coast IPA, Revival or Relapse.

Built on a lean malt grist and hopped to the max with Mosaic, Strata, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin and Abstrax Mosaic, we pushed hard to get this thing ripping with hop character.

Ben is a master when it comes to utilising hops and getting the best possible hop expression into a beer, and he’s been generous enough to let me loose on his system to play around, experiment and see what we could come up with.
It’s been bloody good fun, and together we are excited about how this beer turned out.

Revival or Relapse?

An incredible milestone for our local Parkrun!!! The Good Drop has been a proud supporter of Pegasus parkrun since April 2018! 🏃‍♂️‍➡️😊

If you haven't started your Parkrun journey yet, this is a fantastic opportunity to do so at one of the best events in the country. A flat and easy sealed path around the picturesque Pegasus Lake, you can walk/jog/run the 5km course at your own pace. Bring your family, your mates, and your dog (on a short handheld lead - no waist harnesses please), and join a supportive and positive community every Saturday at 8am.

Get there early this week as there will be huge numbers for this one, but make sure you sign up first (lifetime membership is 100% FREE) and download your personal Parkrun barcode at https://www.parkrun.co.nz/register/

The First-timers briefing is at 7:50am, so you'll have plenty of time for a sleep in on Sunday... 😉 If you are new to Parkrun, please do read the course info page at https://www.parkrun.co.nz/pegasus/course/

So far, there have been only TWO Event500's in the South Island - Dunedin 22nd June 2024 and Hagley 11th January 2025, so Pegasus parkrun is bringing you the Third Ever S.I. Event500 and are we gonna put it on for you 🌟
At Pegasus Event400 we offered up all sorts of goodies for you and over 700 of you came out to us.
This year, with a great deal of local and National support we will have something in excess of $2000 worth of Gift Cards/Vouchers to give away, there is also over $4000 worth of merchandise and products to hand out.
Only parkrun finishers and Volunteers who are on site at the time of drawing will be able to claim a prize.

We are so excited to be part of the biggest news in the New Zealand brewing scene this year!!! We have had a long association with local legend Sam and Derelict Brewing, and now he is back!!! We are super proud of our first collaborative brew - Sam's post says it all 😋.

First brewed back in 2018, 10 Acre is our rotating hop series that has evolved through different Ingredients and brewing processes over the years.
This iteration is in collaboration with The Good Drop and is an unfiltered pale ale loaded with Freestyle Farms Limequat hop blend and Yakima Chief Mosaic, bringing fresh lime zest, kumquat, tropical citrus, ripe fruit and a light resinous hop hit that adds depth and complexity.
10 Acre has always been a pale ale with an IPA sized hop load, and this latest iteration is no different.
It's juicy, hazy, fresh and properly hop forward.

We will be serving our delicious Mulled Wine, as well as a new cocktail creation from our master-mixologist Conor. This time he's conjured up an Espresso Martini laced with hints of vanilla - served on our nitro tap to add extra creaminess. Both of these will pair perfectly with the delicious goodies served by our mates ALT Kitchen

We're celebrating King's Birthday weekend with a special cocktail created by our resident mixologist Conor.

King Tom is a nod to the classic "Tom Collins", with its origins in London clubs of the early 19th century. Our version has a subtle vanilla infusion to add a slight twist to this classic cocktail.

Also on tap is our classic English Porter, Loki's Travels Vol 2. The perfect pint for these cooler nights, and a perfect pairing for ALT Kitchen's amazing Mixed Grill Shed Special!!!

Summer may be well and truly over, but we're taking advantage of the amazing sunny weather we've been having the last few weeks.
Returning tomorrow, Sunday the 3rd May, we have our great friend and guitar maestro Dave Morgan playing for us.
From 2:30pm until it gets too cold, Dave will be performing hits from his incredible repertoire.
Make sure you get down to enjoy a pint (or 2) and some amazing food from ALT Kitchen, while enjoying listening to Dave's brilliance!

We are so excited to be having Rob Thompson-Browne performing again this Sunday!!! He completely wowed everybody a few weeks ago with his effortless mastery of his art, and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us this weekend.

Our resident expert mixologist Conor's latest creation is Café Obsession - a decadently delectable creamy chocolate concoction for your enjoyment (quite a mouthful in more than one way!😉).
Using fresh cold brew espresso from Three Llamas Gourmet Coffee in Woodend, expect deep chocolate flavours with subtle coffee undertones. Poured on our Nitro tap to add a creamy mouthfeel. Delicious served over ice 🍫☕🍸😋
