This is The Woodfort Estate at the top of Magic Mountain, just at the back of Raglan, overlooking the majestic Mt Karioi, vast rolling hills in the countryside and the view of Raglan Estuary, a bit hazy and misty today but we can usually see the ocean from here, astounding views, this video doesn't give it justice.
Footage all done in house by me, with my Mavic 3 classic drone, had fun with it but was not easy at night and crashed my drone a couple of time, haha my first movie so forgive me for the imperfections! Yay!
Thanks for watching š
So thrilled with how the Mason Residence has turned out!
This project was a dream from start to finish ā Lana and Shaun had a clear vision, which made the design process seamless. The result is a stunning four-bedroom home featuring an open-plan kitchen, Otago Schist detailing around a see-through fireplace, a spacious double-and-a-half garage with workshop, underfloor heating, a full ventilation system, and generous indoorāoutdoor living areas.
The large kitchen and bathroom were beautifully designed by ā Jenny absolutely nailed every detail!
Big thanks as well to Dan and the team at Fervour Construction for their exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Couldnāt be happier with this one ā a fantastic collaboration from start to finish.

The project began on a bare paddock, with Tracey and John living in a modest modular home on their small farm. From our very first meeting, they were incredibly welcoming, and I sensed immediately that this project was destined to be something truly special. The future building site occupied a long, narrow hill, prominently positioned to capture sweeping, majestic views of the Rangitahi Peninsula and the harbour at Raglan.
Rubixarc designed this home with great care and attentiveness, being deeply in tune with Tracey and Johnās needs and desires. Tracey envisioned a warm, energy-efficient home that would maximize the stunning sea views while requiring low-maintenance cladding. The design emphasized seamless indoor-outdoor living, with all indoor spaces opening onto a spacious deck featuring a sheltered, user-friendly outdoor area. This covered space was thoughtfully designed to be enclosed when needed, protecting against the challenging West Coast Waikato weather. The swimming pool became a notable feature, planned to be installed first due to difficult access, sparking lively conversations. Key elements for the home included a grand, inviting fireplace, a practical mudroom, and a dedicated men's cave, which was a must-have for John.
Both Tracey and John loved the inviting warmth of timber textures. They chose a birch plywood finish to create a home that felt spacious yet deeply cozy and comfortableāthe emphasis was on striking a perfect balance between openness and intimacy.
